Story Of Season’s Friends Of Mineral Town

10 July 2020 by Eileen Leave a Comment

Story Of Season’s Friends Of Mineral Town was originally released for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, but now you can enjoy playing this remake on the Nintendo Switch to relive those childhood memories! You can get it physically and digitally today for the Nintendo Switch within Europe and Australia and it will launch with English, French, German and Spanish text localisation.

If you are like me, who enjoys solo role-playing / simulation games to build up your empire, you will love this game. Personally, I have not played the original game as I don’t own a Game Boy so can’t compare the difference between the old game and the remake. But one thing that is immediately noticeable is the graphics on this game is not as slick and modern as in Animal Crossing. This is more simple and plain, probably in keeping with the formula of the original game.

The game is all about making your way in life as a farmer and building up your relationships with your town. Your life begins when you inherit the very much neglected farm from your late grandfather. You need to learn many skills to raise your farm to the highest standard. There are four characters to choose from (two girls and two boys). Once you are done, you are ready to farm!

First, you learn how to tend the farm by clearing the land that is filled with stones, weeds and lots of rubbish! Once you clear the land, you start growing your own fruits and veggies, harvest and sell them for money or cook with it to give you the energy. As this is the start of your farming, it took me a long time just to clear the land for plantation! This farm does not come with big machineries like a harrow, tractor or sprinkler system. It brings you back to the basics of early farming. One thing about this game is that time runs very quickly! You can be clearing the land in the morning and a couple of minutes later, it is midnight! Also, look out for your energy levels and feed yourself!

Story Of Season’s Friends Of Mineral Town storyBesides farming, you have to care for your livestock like horse and cow. They will earn you profit if you treat them well. Brush them, talk to them and keep them happy!

Also, don’t forget to visit your town to befriend your neighbours. Who knows, you might find the boy or girl of your dreams! You might be able to date them, get married, and even start a family! According to their announcement video, it seems they are bang up-to-date and can have a same-sex wedding! I have not reached that stage yet so can’t comment more about it.

Beyond farming, you can go fishing, cook fresh meals, mine and when your work’s all said and done, you can take a dip in the local hot spring. You get to experience the farmer’s life like never before! I didn’t do any time skipping, hence I don’t know what’s in the new update for the next seasons. But according to Marvelous Games, there will be a busy calendar full of festivals and there won’t be a dull day in Mineral Town! Check here for more details: https://www.storyofseasons.games/
