After a splendid refurbishment, The Green Man Pub & Restaurant is re-open for business from midday (11am for Sunday) for an extensive selection of drinks and real ales, with food served all day until 10pm every day! This delightful premium pub is located in the heart of the picturesque village of Middleton. There is plenty of car parking at the side of the pub and it has its very own garden.
This was our first time visiting Middleton and it is situated in the middle of a ‘leisure area’ including The Belfry, Drayton Manor Theme Park and Kingsbury Water Park. The pub is not very difficult to find as it is well signposted along the way and the sat nav had no problems locating it either.
Earlier this week, we were invited to try out their brand new menu and it also happened to be their official opening too. When we walked through the front door, the whole place was very well refurbished, with open log fires, plush velvet seating and vintage lighting. They have also sourced crafted furniture and plenty of eye-catching artworks. The pub looks very cosy and welcoming with a classic feel.
We were there fairly early and the place was already filled with their devoted customers and their four-legged friends. The main menu and lunch menu are very exciting and mouthwatering! There are so many dishes to choose from, such as heritage breed pork belly, dayboat fish fresh from the port or an expertly aged ribeye steak. All their ingredients are sourced locally and they use sustainable seafood. Their dishes feature fresh flavours inspired by the seasons. You can be assured that the choices of their food and drinks have gone above and beyond. I’m sure you will love it! We were impressed with the selection of menu options.
We started off with Mr C’s seared wild Atlantic scallops and a squid dish for myself while children had the artisan rustic breads with salted butter. The scallops were beautifully cooked and decorated with edible flowers – very appealing and vibrant. My squid’s batter was crispy but soft to chew inside. The complimentary sauce comes with a bit of heat and herb which made it very enticing. My children loved the variety of the breads and the hint of salt in the butter.
For our mains, Mr K and Ms C chose from the Children’s menu and they had the beef burger and linguine. I chose from their special menu which is the catch of the day, mackerel fish and Mr C had the rack of lamb. We were all delighted with our choices. All the dishes were well presented and made you want to eat more! I loved the vibrant colour of the foods they served. They were all cooked to perfection and tasted great. It didn’t take us long to polish the whole plate clean!
We then ended the meals with yummy desserts. Both my children had the chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream and Mr C had the apple, plum & damson crumble with coffee. I didn’t have a dessert as I was too full from the delicious meal. The nice sized portions of the desserts were perfect to end the meal on a high.
We had a lovely time there, especially our birthday boy, and would recommend it to everyone. I am sure their fresh and vibrant dishes won’t disappoint. To book a table, please visit: https://www.thegreenmanmiddleton.co.uk/
