Time’s Up Party Game Review

13 October 2019 by Eileen

This is my latest review for the Asmodee UK Blogger Board Game Club and we have received this Time’s Up party game, which is based on the popular game Time’s Up! This quick-fire party edition challenges players to guess the names of famous people and cartoon characters. It is suitable for aged 12 and above, with four to twelve players.

Inside this portable box, it comes with 220 cards, sand timer, instructions, biographies, score pad and a bag for you to bring it out to play.

This is a team party game that requires at least two players per team. Players can select to use the yellow or black side of the cards. Deal 40 cards between all players and each player secretly look at their cards. At this point, players can trade for other cards if their cards are too complex or unknown to them. Once everyone has read their cards, shuffle all the cards together.

There are three rounds to play. In each round, one member of a team tries to get his teammates to guess as many names as possible in 30 seconds. In round one, players can give almost any kind of clue and make as many guesses as they want. They are not allowed to skip a card!

In round two, players use no more than one word in each clue. We all find this hard and struggled with this round! Also in this round, players can only make one single guess!

Then in the third round, which is the mime round, players are not allowed to use any words at all but they can act, hum and make sound effects.

This game is very easy to play but not very easy to guess if you are not familiar with the famous names or characters! We all enjoy this game and would recommend it to anyone. It can be a travel game as it comes in a small bag to carry around. It will be very fun to play with a big group of friends or family! This game is available to buy from good retailers and Amazon.
