Shark Chase Review

10 October 2019 by Eileen

Roll as fast as you can to be the first to swim to the island before the shark gets you! Shark Chase is a fast and furious family game that packed full of laughter! It left us all in stitches at the end of each round! Phew! This is a very simple game that is suitable for ages four and above. It is for two to four players.

Shark Chase Review and Giveaway

The game comes with a motorised shark, game board, island, blue clips, two dice and four sets of coloured creatures; fishes, crabs and turtles. Set up of the game is quick and easy by securing the clips onto the game board, shark and island. It is very easy to disassemble and pack away neatly into the box too. This motorised shark requires two AA batteries, which are not included.

The aim of the game is to get onto the island before being eaten by the shark. For younger players, it is best to start the shark in front of the sea creatures. For older players like most of us in this household, we start the shark just literally two steps behind us to make it more fun! You can watch the video clip over on my Instagram.

Select one player or the oldest player to roll the dice and a quick tip is to have the player roll the dice into the box to stop the dice from travelling too far! The dice roller will call out the colour and keep rolling! Everyone will move their corresponding coloured creatures around the board to stay ahead of the shark. If the shark’s mouth completely covers one of the creatures, the player is out of the round. For each creature that makes it safely to the island, players earn points. The winner is the player with the most points after three rounds.

We had so much fun screaming at the dice roller and getting ourselves away from the shark! This game is almost like those horse racing games you might see in an arcade! We all love watching how the shark swallows the creatures up and we find it hilarious! This game is a simple, yet fun game for everyone! I am pretty sure grandparents will love it too! You can get this game from good toy retailers like Argos, Very, Smyths, Toy Master, Amazon and other online shops.
