Pointless the mini-game is a portable travel edition that is easy to pack for travel this Easter half term. Having a family travel game in-hand is a great alternative than just a deck of playing cards. It is an excellent way to pass the time and learn general knowledge at the same time!
Before you play this game, it is best that you understand the concept of the game. This game is based on the BBC2 British quiz show hosted by Alexander Armstrong where players have to guess the correct answer with the lowest points score or pointless, of course!
Before I explain this mini-game version, let me explain how the question points scores come from. Each question is based on a survey given to a group of 100 people who are given 100 seconds to give as many answers as they can.
In this mini-game, they have taken 5 answers for players to select from. The player or team must select one of the 5 answers that they believe is the least likely to have been given by the 100 people surveyed and therefore having a low points score.
This game is suitable for aged 12 and above. It is for two to five players or teams. It comes with 120 questions, question card holder, answer pad and instructions. It is simple to set up the game. All you need is that each player/team is given an answer sheet and pencil. Do not remove the question cards out of the holder as it covers the answer.
As you begin the game, each player or team master takes it, in turn, to read out loud. However, not all the cards are easy to read out loud as there are quite a few anagrams and with alternate letters missing, so sometimes it is best to place it within reach of the players or team to read for themselves.
The game will end after six questions answered. Whoever has scored the lowest points score is the Pointless champion. It is that simple to play but the questions are really hard! My children and I struggled to answer many of the questions, but at least we get to learn a little bit more each day! This is a good value travel game from University Games that can be replayed over again and again. This is available in good retailers and Amazon.
