All I want for Christmas is a Gaming Headset! This is what I have been hearing whenever I ask Mr K for his Christmas list. He is, just like many youngsters, very much into his online gaming and watching his favourite YouTubers. Currently, he is into one of the most successful online games in Fortnite and wanting a gaming headset so that he can communicate with his online friends.
As he is at the right age, we do now allow him to play online with his classmates. I was thrilled to receive this Stealth Cruiser gaming headset from the XP-Camo Series for Mr K to review. This headset is suitable for multi-platforms like Xbox ONE, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, mobile phones, tablets and personal computers. There are three headsets with unique camouflage designs inspired by important vehicles used in battle over the last century from this XP-Camo Series range: The Cruiser, The Warrior and The Conqueror.
This headset has a classic camouflage pattern, which is based on the disruptive pattern material of World War 2 and it gets its name Cruiser from the powerful war vehicle used in WW2.
Mr K loves the print on the headset with its soft touch finish. It looks very modern and sleek. They are very well made with a padded headband and fitted leatherette ear cushions. The headband is adjustable to ensure a good fit. We all had a try of this headset. Initially, we felt the headset was a bit tight around the head, but after a while, it felt more comfortable and secure around your ears. We find it enjoyable to wear for long periods and lightweight. They fit well on us and this is definitely more durable and comfortable than the on-ear headphones we were using before.
As for the sound quality, this is using 40mm speaker drivers to the 3.5mm jack cable. You can hear the surrounding sounds clearly and also clear audio commands from your team. This headset also allows you to control your volume and microphone. You can mute the microphone by switching it off and use the wheel to adjust the volume via the volume control. It comes with a clip for you to clip onto your clothing and the cable is long enough to go comfortably to your device.
One of the main things that Mr K loves about this gaming headset is the flexible mic. He was very excited and has been telling all his online friends about this headset. With the flexible mic, he is able to communicate easily without having to raise his voice as it can be adjusted to be closer to his face. The mic can also be hidden away by pushing it to the side.
When using it to watch YouTube or play games, the sound is clear and the over-ear design does block out some of the environmental noise. Overall, we love the design and the soft touch coating of this headset which is well made and produces good quality sound. This product is available to buy from Argos, Smyths and Amazon.
