Monopoly Cheaters Edition

3 October 2018 by Eileen

Who doesn’t like to cheat? I love that Monopoly are always looking for ways to improve the game and this time, I think they have nailed it! I do occasionally “bend the rules” for myself during a Monopoly game. Why would I want to pay rent or lose the game to my children!

Anyway, this Monopoly Cheaters Edition gives you a licence to cheat! How awesome is that! I am very impressed with this game. But not all of my family members love it. Ms C didn’t like the idea of cheating!

Monopoly cheaters edition review

This updated version of the classic game comes with new rules that allow people to partake in those iconic (yet sometimes unspoken) Monopoly moments that occur during family game nights.

In this game, they have added a plastic Handcuff Unit to make sure a prisoner is well cuffed. I love this little orange gadget! There is no key for this handcuff but there is a quick release button. So watch out and make sure the prisoner doesn’t make a sneaky escape!

Monopoly cheaters edition playing pieces

This game is for age eight and above, and for two to six players. There are a total of six game tokens. Some of them are the classics and some are introduced from last year. We have the Top Hat, Scottie the dog, Car, Cat, T-Rex and Penguin.

The game board is slightly different from the classic. There are fewer properties to buy and some are free, half price or comes with Hotel etc. There are no green houses in this game but there are a total of 16 hotels which you can purchase once you own a full-colour set.

They have introduced 15 new cheat cards where players can attempt to get away with “borrowing” money from the bank, skipping spaces, and avoiding rent payments during gameplay, as well as other sly swindles. While players will be rewarded for completing the in-game “cheats,” they must be sly. If caught, offenders will face consequences – including a pretend handcuff that will “chain” those culprits to the game board.

Personally, I love playing this game as many times, I can proudly announce that I have cheated and got away with it! Initially, it is hard to cheat but as time goes on and players are less attentive, we get more chances to cheat. It was really fun and certainly gets your adrenaline going! I would recommend it to anyone. Monopoly Cheaters Edition is available in all good retailers and Amazon.

If you are a big fan of Nintendo, why not also check out this Monopoly Gamer!
