Tyres On The Drive Review

23 April 2018 by Eileen

Don’t have time to go to your garage? Then why not let the garage come to you instead, at your location and at a time that is convenient for you! Tyres On The Drive offers just this excellent service to their customers for free mobile tyre-fitting (with 2 or more tyres) that guarantees to save time and money! They also regularly check their prices against competitors that will save you up to 40% on your tyres.

Tyres On The Drive review

This is my first time using Tyres On The Drive and, yes, I wish I had heard about them much earlier! I always dislike driving to different garages and waiting in cold, unwelcoming waiting areas, especially if I am unfamiliar with the place. In the past, we have tried to save money by getting buying cheap tyres online and driving miles away from home to get them fitted.

After trying out Tyres On The Drive, I realise I can save much more money and time using them. Now I can enjoy a cup of tea at home while waiting for my tyre change!

Tyres On The Drive is a well-established company that allows customers to book online or over the phone and have new tyres fitted, or punctures repaired, at any suitable location of your choice (covers most of the UK), 7 days a week from 8 am to 8 pm. They also will ensure that they complete a full tyre and brake safety check.

The website is easy to navigate by simply keying in your car registration number and postcode. It will tell you the type of tyres and you can choose your tyre, time and place, then pay online. Alternatively, if you can pay over the phone at the time you make your booking. Do note that they offer 2-hour slots that come with a small fee or you can choose a 4-hour slot or all day slot for free of charge.

Tyres On The Drive new tyre

Currently, we have a Mercedes B class and the tyres that were fitted were the Bridgestone Potenza S001 tyres.  The Bridgestone Potenza S001 tyres offer great performance and safety in mind.  I can definitely feel the difference driving with these brand new tyres! They feel very smooth throughout the journey and quieter than our old tyres on the road. They are dynamic and powerful! Best of all, each tyre only costs £94.99, which is a bargain for such a high-end, quality brand!

Tyres On The Drive sends you a confirmation email and text once you have completed your booking online. Then nearer to the time, they will send you a reminder and a confirmation text for the time slot.

Andy, our friendly technician, came within the given time slot and before he arrived, he gave me a call when he was 10 minutes away. To save time, I had already positioned my car and had the wheel locking kit handy to save time. Then I just handed over my key to Andy and went back indoors for a quick cuppa. Of course, I didn’t really spend all my time indoors as I was busy chatting with him and making videos!

Tyres On The Drive change tyres

Within 45 minutes, Andy managed to change all four tyres and our car was ready to go! I love that he was so efficient and I didn’t even have to wait too long! I was gobsmacked! I was expecting him to take much longer than that! In my video, you will see the process of changing the tyres: https://youtu.be/Hl6x71JFKQc

First, he jacked up the car and removed the two tyres on one side. Next, he used his tools from his van to remove the old tyres and installed the brand new tyres. After a quick dust off the brake discs, the new tyres were refitted on the car. Then the process was repeated on the other side of the car. He made it look very straightforward and did it without any issues!

As I mentioned earlier, I wish I had known about this great service from Tyres On The Drive before. It is efficient and hassle-free. Needless to say, I am very well impressed with their friendly technician’s service and their vans equipped with the latest technology and equipment. This is ultra-convenient and at a cheaper price – you can’t go far wrong!
