This SoundBot SB520 wireless speaker is a portable and stylish speaker that delivers a clear strong bass with passive subwoofer on both ends. It has a stainless steel brush metal finish with 3D effect technology. This is highly versatile as there are no wires attached and so you can move it around the house wherever you go.
This speaker comes in a well presented box with included micro USB charging cable (AC wall charger not included), 3.5mm audio cable and instructions. I love that both cables are braided which feels more durable.
This speaker comes in a unique triangular prism shape. It has rubbery feet on the base of the speaker. I do find that the switch and buttons on the top are too small for my liking. For supported devices, you can control the volume and answer the phone. It does not work with my iPad but I could control it via the device and see the battery level on the screen. It has a built in microphone which is located on the front.
It comes with a built-in 2200mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery. It has a very respectable battery life that will last up to 15 hours wired and 12 hours using a Bluetooth wireless connection. At the moment, I am very pleased with its battery life after plenty of use. For the initial use, it is important to charge it for 5 full hours to maximize the battery performance and life span. The red LED light will turn on when it is charging and turn off when it is fully charged. When it has low battery, the red LED light will blink slowly to alert you to charge it. It will take 4 to 6 hours to charge each time. If you want to charge quickly, it is best to switch the power button to the off position. You can either charge through your laptop or any AC adaptor with USB output.
It is so easy to connect to the SoundBot SB520 wireless speaker. First, you have to switch on the speaker and the Bluetooth network on your music player. The devices pick up the signal very quickly and connects within seconds. It is compatible with all wireless devices with a Bluetooth connection, e.g. Android, iPhone, iPad, tablets, smartphones, iPods, MP3, MP4, radio players, and other Bluetooth enabled digital players or any audio device that has a 3.5 mm audio jack output.
I mostly use overseas radio stations and the sound is pretty clear. It has a strong bass which gives the sound more depth and presence and is a real upgrade to any built-in speaker on your smartphone/tablet. My husband and I are very well impressed with the sound quality. On my video, you can see how the Passive Subwoofer vibrates! https://youtu.be/L6b_fUnLZ0g
This speaker’s connection range is about 33 feet which sounds right to me. I have tested this speaker inside my house with a direct and indirect line of sight. It works through thick walls and a floor below! The only time that the signal broke was when I didn’t have the Wi-Fi signal on my iPad. Now I can bring it out to enjoy listening to music in some part of my garden!
Overall this speaker is well made, portable and has good sound quality at a very reasonable price. It is available to buy it from Amazon.
