Everdine Clean Eating Meal Review

3 June 2017 by Eileen

Everdine is a clean eating meal plan subscription service based in London, but delivers across mainland UK (areas serviced by DPD Next Day – 93% of UK). Their clean gourmet meals are fully prepared and delivered frozen to your home for free. All you need to do is heat it up in your microwave (some meals are suitable in oven) and they are ready to eat in minutes.

everdine meal review

You might ask why you would choose them over the cheaper frozen meals from the supermarket. The answer is simple – they offer nourishing and super delicious meals that you can’t find in supermarkets. The meals are well balanced and the ingredients are pack full of wholesome goodness. I like that some of the ingredients they use are ingredients I would never normally buy because they normally require washing/preparing. It is always great to try out new foods especially if they are good foods.

Everdine have both vegetarian and non-vegetarian versions available for their customers to choose from. I have ordered their 8 classic meals. They only deliver every Friday before 11am by DPD. The delivery company will send you a text to inform you the one hour time slot that they will deliver your meal. This helps you plan when you need someone to be home to receive the delivery. Once it is delivered, it is best to quickly place your frozen meals in the freezer as quick as you can especially with summer on its way. Most of the packaging is recyclable which reduces waste. Our delivery was well packed and it comes with a helpful list of your meals.

As mentioned, all you need to do is to microwave it, and it is pretty much straightforward. Take out the cardboard sleeve, remove any pots (depends on the meal), pierce film or re-cover, heat the meal according to the given time, stir halfway and serve.

The meals that my family and I had tried are:

Vegetable Gyoza with Miso Broth – Spiralised vegetables, Soba noodle and Shitake mushrooms. The broth is tasty. I was quite worried that the vegetables would be soggy but I was wrong. The vegetables were still crunchy and very nicely prepared.

Tandoori Salmon with Red Lentil Dahl – Tandoori salmon with creamy butternut squash & Dahl puree, roasted cauliflower, kale and toasted almonds. The fish was slightly on the dry side but the overall flavour was there. I love the taste of the sweet puree and crunchy kale.

Piri Piri Chicken – Char-gilled chicken breast with sweet potato, red rice, Basmati rice, spinach and sweetcorn. My son loved this meal. He said the chicken was tender and delicious.

Parsnip & Paneer Curry – traditional spices which are toasted and then stewed with tomatoes. The meal was very wholesome, not spicy and easy to eat.

Moroccan Chicken Tagine – The chicken is marinated in Ras El Hanout as well as local spices with Pomegranate Bulgur Wheat, roasted vegetables and preserved lemon. The overall taste was great.

Mediterranean Cod – Cod with roasted garlic potatoes, kale, feta, sundried tomatoes and butter beans. The fish was slightly dry for my liking. I like the overall taste.

Jerk Chicken with Pineapple salsa – Brown rice, charred corn, kidney beans, chorizo with a blend of pineapple and coconut. It was flavoursome and delicious. I would buy this again as this is not something you would easily find in the supermarket.

Chilli Con Carne with Brown Rice – Slow cooked beef with butternut squash, sweetcorn, red quinoa, soya beans and kidney beans. My husband loved it especially as the beef was very tender and flavoursome. There was plenty of it too!

We all love what Everdine meals offer for our family. Their unique menu is something that you would normally see in nice restaurants. The choices of their ingredients are great, like butter beans and a variety of vegetables which is definitely clean eating! I do find the portion is rather small for my liking. I tend to have a bigger lunch than dinner so this would be a perfect portion for me for dinner.

If you like to give it a try, I am offering you an exclusive discount of £25 on your first order. Click the link to try https://www.everdine.co.uk/your-curated-meal-plan-is-here/tornado
