To celebrate the recent release of Moana on DVD, we received a fabulous package from Jakks Pacific. We need to host a night in! Disney Moana is a 2016 American 3D computer-animated musical fantasy comedy adventure film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and it was released in December 2016. We had already watched it at the cinema with Ms C and she loved it.
We were so thrilled to have received the Singing Moana Feature Doll, Moana’s Magic Necklace and The Moana DVD to watch it again this half term! The story is about a 16 year old Moana, who is struggling to find her true self. Meanwhile her father the Chief, pressures her to follow in his footsteps and lead their island one day. However, Moana is drawn across the reef to the open ocean, the only place she feels like herself and the only place the people of her village are forbidden to go. But when her island is threatened by a mythical darkness, Moana breaks the rules and sets sail on an epic adventure to save her people and find the answers she has been searching for her whole life.
This Singing Moana Feature Doll also comes with her loyal pet pig Pua and rooster friend Heihei. Now your child can relive the story and adventure again and again with these characters. Moana is a 14 inch doll dressed up in her beautiful tribal costume. She comes with Royal Reflection ™ eyes which shine and shimmer! Her locks are long, curly and soft to touch. By pressing her shell necklace, you can hear her say actual movie phrases and sing her song ”How Far I’ll Go” as her iconic necklace magically lights up! It requires three AAA batteries which are included. There is a on/off/try me button located at her back. She has a nice weight and feels robust.
Pig Pua is an adorable piggy that is made from rubbery materials. Whilst rooster friend Heihei is a colourful toy that has a big standing base.
Next, we have the Moana’s magical necklace. The iconic blue shell necklace magically lights up when opened and reveals a soft green glow. The necklace can also light up when closed with a push of a button at the back. The ”Heart of Te Fiti!” is not removable unlike the one in the movie. It comes with three LR41 button cell batteries. The necklace is very well made from soft plastic material. It is easy to be worn by children. Ms C loves her necklace especially as it lights up!

We love that the toys are good quality and made to last. Ms C enjoys playing with them and has been singing and humming the songs all week! They are available to buy in good toy retailers and Amazon.
