Another great Marvel movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, is coming out in cinemas soon. No doubt, this is another great opportunity for LEGO fans and movie collectors to collect these Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 playsets. What we have here are: Ravager Attack, Ayesha’s Revenge and The Milano vs. The Abilisk set.
If you have not watched the Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 1 before, I would recommend you watch it. It’s one of those movies that I came away from the cinema feeling thoroughly entertained. We loved it so much we re-watched it again when it was available for streaming. To celebrate the release of volume 2 in April, LEGO is getting fans excited with these three awesome sets!
LEGO MARVEL Super Heroes: Ravager Attack 76079
Even though this is the smallest set among the three sets, this powerful six-stud shooter will take down any Ravagers and fire at Taserface’s M-ship!
Inside this set, it includes three mini figures: Mantis, Rocket and Taserface, and also six-stud shooter and Taserface’s M-ship. I have to say that even though Rocket is smaller than the rest of the mini figures, he is still the cheekiest looking character.
Taserface’s M-ship is well built and has four stud shooters on board ready to shoot at Rocket and Mantis. No need to worry though, Rocket and Mantis have built a powerful weapon from the Milano’s wreckage to fend off the Ravagers.
LEGO MARVEL Super Heroes: Ayesha’s Revenge 76080
Recreate a cosmic battle with Ayesha’s Golden Drone spaceship with two stud shooters and Yondu’s Laser Drill spaceship with a spring-loaded missile. To launch the missile, simply push the side of the missile and watch it launch! Yondu’s Laser Drill spaceship is in a striking yellow and is very well built with sliding mini figure cockpit and opening side panels. Each panel reveals storage for equipment and there is even a cupboard too! It is very well thought out!
The set includes three minifigures: Yondu, Star-Lord and Ayesha, plus a Groot figure in his Ravager suit. How could you not love this tiny Groot! He is my favourite character in the film. Even though he doesn’t speak much and a bit silly, he is such a memorable character in the film.
LEGO MARVEL Super Heroes: The Milano vs. The Abilisk 76081
Help Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax and Groot battle the Abilisk monster as they search for the Annulax batteries. This awesome looking Milano measures almost 40 cm long and can seat two mini figures. You can fire the Milano’s stud shooters situated on the top and release the bombs (four in total) to weaken the monster, then zoom Star-Lord in with his blasters to take the energy source, but watch out for its thrashing tentacles and chomping mouth (by rotating the tentacles to recreate the scene)! You wouldn’t want to be near that monster!
This set includes four mini figures: Star-Lord, Gamora, Nebula and Drax, plus a Groot figure. Star-Lord comes with a set of hair and his oxygen mask. Nebula comes with half robot arm and half human arm and she has been handcuffed. I do think she looks manlier than her real character in the film.
This is a very impressive set and it is great value for money. My son loves flying Milano whilst my daughter loves the Abilisk monster. It’s got to be the pink colour tentacles that attracted her!
