Mr Frosty Review

3 May 2016 by Eileen

Mr Frosty, the classic crunchy ice maker is back with a fresh new look in spring.  It is the much loved original slushy maker from back in the 80s.

With the launch of this revamped nostalgic toy, kids of all ages and adults will love making delicious frozen treats! This much improved friendly snowman ensures making yummy frozen treats is even easier.  It comes with everything you need to create your own crunchy ice, fruity ice shapes and ice lollies!

Inside this box, it comes with Mr Frosty, ice lolly mould with lolly sticks, fruit ice trays, penguin juice pourer, two small blue bowls and two red spoons.  I love that the spoons hook onto Mr Frosty’s hands.  It does look fun!

Mr Frosty is very well made and he looks amazing. Simply remove the hat to insert the ice. The hat is also used to push the ice down. The instructions mentions to leave the small ice cubes at room temperature for approximately 30 minutes before crushing. We left it for 5 – 10 minutes at room temperature.  Both children were happy taking it in turns to turn the handle to crush the ice. It did take them a long time just to get a good amount of crushed ice but they both enjoy playing with it. They also love to use the cute Squeezy penguin.  We like to add one of favourite cordials to the crushed ice.

This also comes with the ice lolly moulds and shape trays for even more fruity creations. Simply pop their favourite fruity drinks or even fruit juice into the moulds and place them in the freezer for a while, then take them out and they’re ready to enjoy. The moulds are quite shallow and easy to clean. To take the ice cube/lolly off, simple run warm water and the ice cube/lolly off will pop out easily.  If you prefer, you can put the frozen shapes under Mr Frosty’s hat to create tasty crushed ice treats for everyone.

Mr Frosty is available now from Smyths and The Entertainer and costs £19.99. He will be part of a collection of frozen treat making toys including an Ice Cream maker for even more chilly fun.  Find out more about Flair’s range of creative products for children here www.coolcreateclub.co.uk. Both my children enjoy using Mr Frosty. Hopefully the weather will be warmer soon and we can use this daily to make some fancy crushed ice desserts!

Do join @UkMumstv and @CoolCreateClub Twitter party on next Wednesday 11th May from 5.30 to 6.30pm! Looking forward to see you there!

Amazing, I always wanted one of these as a child. It may have to go on my Christmas wishlist!
