Thanks to Baker Ross, we often receive great craft kits from them and this month, we have received a range of Father’s Day themed kits and summer themed craft kits. We were provided wooden keyrings, wooden toolbox desk tidy kits, papier Mache farm animal pack, wood clay, giant bamboo leaves, lotus heads, powder paint fluorescent colours and scoubidou strings.
Ms C is very keen to decorate the Father Day’s kit as she wanted to give daddy a surprise. She loves colouring and spent a good half an hour doing her craft. Each kit is well packed and great value. The kits are of good quality with full instructions and are easy to follow and make.
Wooden Keyrings
This kit comes with 8 pieces with rings. They are easy to colour in with felt pens. Once they are dried, they are ready to use.
Wooden Toolbox Desk Tidy Kits
This kit comes has 3 sets which comes with 6 different parts to piece together. Once they are coloured with paint or ink, they are ready to fix. I do find it fiddly to fix all pieces together and they tend to break easily. It is best to super glue them before using it as a desk tidy. We broke it a couple of times before I finally glued them together to give it a permanent fix. This is quite a useful holder as it can hold plenty of stationery. Ms C loves it and has been using it for herself rather than saving it for her daddy!
Papier Mache Farm Animal Pack
This pack comes with seven different farm animals and each animal comes as 5 pieces. There is a chicken, cow, horse, pig, goose, goat and sheep. This can be used with decoupage papers, Decopatch varnish glue and acrylic paints.
I love the quality of the animals in this kit and it would be great for a large craft party group. We made a range of papier mache animals and it took us an hour to glue all the pieces of paper down to make these awesome animals.
I mixed the glue with water and painted over the animals. Next we stuck the paper onto the animals and coated the paper with glue again. It is a long progress but we all enjoyed sticking it. We also painted the piggy with the powder paint fluorescent colours. To use the powder fluorescent colours, we mixed the powder with water. Try not to add too much water at a time. Instead, add it slowly to make a consistent water colour. This took a while to dry on the animal and we had to repaint a few times to make the pig look brighter!
We are hoping the weather will be nicer so that we can use the lotus head and bamboo leaves to create a nice summer craft picture soon!
Do check out Baker Ross if you are looking for craft kits to entertain your children over this June half term! I would highly recommend them. They offer the best value all round with their 100% price match promise!
