Fuze Wheel Writer Review

11 June 2015 by Eileen

Would you want to be seen and noticed by pedestrians or other road users? Install a Fuze Wheel Writer with its incredible light up display on your bike and you will be sure to get lots of attention from your admirers! It is just so cool!

Not all bicycles will be suitable for the Fuze Wheel Writer. You must make sure you have bike wheels 20” and up. This product will not work on wheels with unusually tight or open spokes. Please check before you head off and buy it!

This wheel writer is designed to mount on the back spokes of the bikes wheels. Before installing it, you will need 3x AAA batteries, a Philips screwdriver and scissors. This is suitable from 8 years and above.

Firstly, install the batteries by removing the cover using the Philips screwdriver. Replace the battery cover and you will find that the lights keep flashing. Simply please the OK/SELECT button for 3 seconds to turn it off. Next, remove the cross bar and mounting plate from the wheel writer. Slide the cross bar inside the top of the back wheel until becomes wedged between the spokes. Fasten the back of the wheel writer onto the cross bar. Then align the mounting plate onto the wheel writer. Lastly, mount the magnet onto the frame and secure it with a zip tie. My husband took about 10 minutes to mount it up. It is quite simple to set up.

You could watch a video installation guide here: https://youtu.be/KVtZxQIcsg8?list=PLBRdlTWqKwOAbP2gi6CaNZEfP6mzCT-nZ

The wheel writer will illuminate when the bike is pedalled to display one of 64 pre-programmed messages or images. It also includes a real working speedometer to let others know your speed as you cycle. We are unable to take any photos as it is quite impossible to take during the daylight and being stationary. But it works! The pictures look best when riding between 10 to 30mph. Selecting the pre-programmed designs was a little confusing at first but after a few tries, it is quite straightforward to select the right one.

The Fuze Wheel Writer Deluxe also enables owners of iOS devices to personalise their rides completely by programming in their own message or image. It is free to download the app. You will required iPhone or iPod, iPad 2 and 3. There is a syncing cable provided in the box to connect your smart device to the wheel writer.

Did you know that you can use more than one wheel writer? You can use up to three wheel writers to have a better and brighter looking light display. Overall it is easy to install and there are many displays to choose from or make your own. This is definitely useful and a cool gadget for students/adult cyclists. If your other half likes cycling, you might like to get this for Father’s Day! To find out more about Fuze, check out re:creation for more details. You can get the Fuze Wheel Writer Deluxe from Argos at RRP £29.99 or Amazon.
