Sensory Play with Cra-Z-Sand

31 March 2015 by Eileen

Sensory play is a great way to stimulate children’s five senses: touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing. Through these activities, it would naturally help children to learn to play, create, investigate and explore. Cra-Z-Sand is just perfect for the job as it is easier to clean up than the real sand and it is non-toxic.

sensory play with cra z sand

Cra-Z-Sand is a pretend sand that enables you to trim, shape and sculpt into different shapes using their sand tools or using your own tools. Your child could build their own sandcastle or building and add toy characters in it to create a play scenes. It has a silky smooth texture and it can be powdery or firm when you press it or mould it.

Cra-z-sand playset review

This is suitable for age 4 onwards and it comes with 700g of Cra-Z-Sand, tray, roller, 3 shaping tools and instructions. The Cra-Z-Sand is slightly greenish in colour and it can be played with again and again without it drying out. It is quite easy to store away in a zip lock plastic bag or an air tight container. I love that it is so easy to clean up and that it doesn’t stain.

Cra-Z-Sand is great for a hands-on sensory learning experience for children. I have given my children a variety of Minecraft toys and even food stuffs like spaghetti to play with Cra-Z-Sand. Even by adding those toys and food stuffs, it is still very easy to clean/brush the Cra-Z-Sand off the toys.

I do find that the blue tray is too small for two children to use and therefore can get quite messy. Nevertheless they are happy playing with the Cra-Z-Sand outside the tray. The RRP is £19.99 which is available to buy on Character Online, Amazon and other good stores.

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.

This looks like a really cool product, and seems less messy than real sand!

This looks fun, my two are keen to try this, we have the same but with purple sand to try later this week.
