iPad Child Shock-Proof Case Review

23 January 2015 by Eileen

For any parents whose children have access to an iPad, it is a common concern that their children might accidentally drop their iPad and scratch the screen or worse. Therefore, I am always on the look out for a good iPad case for my children. Mr K has been using a standard case with a Marvel Superheroes print that doesn’t provide much protection.

Therefore, I am delighted that Case Happy offered this iPad Kids Child Shock-proof Cover Case for us to review. Case Happy offer casings for different types of products, from Kindles to tablets to laptop. They also offer a great free delivery service too.

This casing is made of high quality non-toxic dense EVA foam material with a rugged frame surface for extra shock-absorbing, dust-repelling, skid-proof, anti-fingerprints, and anti-scratch protection. The foam did initially have a smell but but after a few days, the smell is quite mild.

The casing is thick, flexible and covers the back and frame to prevent dents, scratches, and wear on both back and sides of the iPad. It’s a shame that the finish on the side has a very thin line where the case was joined during manufacture.

It comes with a 180 degree rotatable grip handle which provides extra security, and can also be folded back as a stand for horizontal viewing or typing position. My son commented that he loves how much easier it is to carry his iPad than before.

To insert the iPad, firstly remove the hard plastic board inside the case and insert the iPad through the long opening on the back of the case. It didn’t take me to long to put it on.

The casing comes with full access to all ports, buttons, and cameras without the need to remove the case. My son struggled to press the button to turn off the iPad as the foam around it is quite thick. He is able to turn it off with some effort though. The charging port comes with a cover. To charge it, you have to flip its cover and the space between the port and foam is very tight. My son is able to connect the cable nicely but I do worry that he will bend the cable at some point in time.

This casing is compatible with Apple iPad 2, 3 and 4 only but is not suitable for other models. Overall it is a nice case for children who are accident prone. It protects your valuable gadget and gives you peace of mind.
