Paper Cut Tulip & Flower Border

3 October 2014 by Eileen 1 Comment

Last month, I blogged about the paper cut Jack-O-Lantern and bat for a Halloween display. They are great as a banner. Today, I am cutting tulips and flower borders using the book by Kai Iwami called Paper Cut Planet.

The first paper cut is tulip. Tulips are my favourite flowers, and in particular, pink is my favourite colour.

Paper Cut Tulip

Materials:

  • Coloured paper/tissue paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Pen knife

Method:

  1. Fold the coloured paper as shown. Fold it into two strips before folding it again. Select the width and thickness of the paper according to your needs. I used A4 paper, 80 grams which is a bit thicker to be able to show it well on my blog.

  2. Draw the template as shown.

  3. Cut it out using scissors or a pen knife.
  4. Either display it on a photo frame or use the tulips to decorate a card.
