Must-Haves for Holiday

24 October 2014 by Eileen 2 Comments

We love holidaying in the UK especially as there are so many places worth visiting like Bath, lovely beaches in Cornwall and Devon and the Lake District. Also you are able to pack your must-have items that you unable to take on an overseas holiday!

must-haves for holiday

My must-have for holiday is my bolster pillow (if you don’t know what that is, it is a long, thick pillow)! I know it sounds strange but I have had one since very young and can never get a good nights sleep without one. I suppose it’s a bit like a child with their bedtime bear as I am hugging the bolster pillow to sleep. I bought three different bolster pillows over from Singapore as I can’t find them in the UK. Whenever we go away in the UK I will take it along. It is very lightweight and easy to squeeze in between luggage or it can be used for sleeping in the car! There are also many other things which I would consider must-haves, like my favourite Chinese snacks and carton drinks.

I asked this question of what must-haves would you take on holiday to a few of my blogger friends and these are their replies:

Jenny at The Brick Castle needs her wellies!

Jennifer at My Mummy’s Pennies would bring board games, their favourite bedtime stories, wellies and scooters for exploring the outdoors.

Mary at Over 40 and a Mum to One would definitely pack wellies, waterproofs, board games and clothes for all weathers. It doesn’t matter if you leave things in the boot of the car. She will also take her GHD’s rather than mini travel straighteners. Her son will probably pack loads of his toys. If it was summer, they would pack garden games if they were staying in their own cottage.

Tina at The Soup Dragon Says must-haves are pack of cards, tea bags, and at this time of year a hot water bottle! If it was summer, they would take bikes!

Kel at Writings, Ramblings and Reviews takes her home comforts – your own duvet etc. Her kids can take toys and teddies galore! Their favourite food, and technology – phone, big SLR camera!

Anthea at Blue Bear Wood takes as much as her car will carry which is great for UK seasonal weather. They would take, bikes, scooters, blades, helmets, warm coats, light weight coats, wellies, trainers, sandals, casual shoes, posh shoes, just in case they get messy clothes, just in case they go posh clothes … oh the things they can do, the things they can see and the things they can take! – Wow! Such a long list! Her car must be so packed!

Laura at Yummy Mummy Flabby Tummy takes tea bags!

Pippa at Red Rose Mummy definitely taking her favourite food and drinks.  They always stock up in Home Bargains for kids drinks and treats as it saves money when we get there.  Everything just gets chucked in the car.

So what are your must-haves for holidays?

Disclosure: This is my entry for the must-haves competition.
