Any jigsaw puzzlers out there? Last month Jumbo Games launched the first ever 1,500 piece Wasgij jigsaw puzzle – Wasgij Original 22: Wasgij Studio Tour! I had seen Wasgij sold in the shops before but I had previously never dared to take up the challenge.
In case you hadn’t realised, Wasgij is “Jigsaw” spelt backwards and they are the No.1 adult puzzle brand in the UK. They are unlike traditional jigsaw puzzles where you able to see what the final puzzle and know what you are working towards. Puzzlers can choose from these different puzzling concepts; Original, Destiny, Mystery, What If…?, Christmas and Licensed to enjoy – each uniquely different.
Last week, I received this Wasgij Original 22 studio tour puzzle and it took me at least two days just to the edges of the puzzle! It was not easy to identify at all, especially sorting through 1500 pieces. I managed to resist the temptation to Google for any reviews of the studio tour images to spoil my fun.
The concept of the puzzle image depicts the opening of the new tourist attraction, The Wasgij Studios and fans have turned up in their hundreds to be the first to step through the doors! As the Wasgij fans enjoy riding on the open top Wasgij Tour bus and walking around the Wasgij Towers, a crowd gathers to witness something magical. So what did they see?
I had to keep thinking outside the box! It is totally misleading when you have leopards in this puzzle. Initially I thought it is a zoo! The leopards are surround by water. But then why there are there six painters? What are they doing? What are they painting?
After I worked on piecing all the painters in small groups, I worked on colour. I tried to match all the greens, blues and multi-colours in groups and also putting faces together too. It took me at least another 4 hours but helpfully Mr C joined in and gave me a hand! He helped me to pick out all the significant builds or characters.
It took me another 6 hours to finally piece everything together. This is the finished puzzle of what they are looking at. There is so much going on in this puzzle! There is an artist at the rooftop drawing a picture of fans and tour buses. There are others artists drawing portraits, sketches, and random pictures.
Also there is a man crouching down putting his hand to search for fishes. I kept thinking the elderly man is sitting on the boat but in fact, there are two elderly men on it.
Also why there is a butler? Is it a restaurants up there? I kept thinking that the butler is serving the VIP/King, but in fact, he is miles away from him.
I loved piecing all 1500 pieces together. It was very challenging and fun having to think outside the box. The completed puzzle measures a pretty large 90 cm by 60 cm. It is suitable for 12 and above. I think this is a family puzzle and is great to get everyone involved. Without Mr C’s help, I don’t think I could have completed it within 5 days. I would highly recommend to any problem solvers out there who love a challenging surprise puzzle. This is totally awesome concept!

I quite enjoy jigsaws but have never tried one of these, puzzles always seem quite addictive though, you must have had a lot of patience to finish this!
