Ben & Holly Thistle Castle Playset Review

29 July 2014 by Eileen

This is a brand new Ben & Holly Thistle Castle playset from Character Online. I am impressed with the superb quality of the playset. It is very sturdy and robust, and the castle is very colourful too. Ms C was so happy when she saw it and wanted me to open it up immediately!

It comes with a castle, a bed, a treasure box and Holly. Normally, playsets require you to stick the stickers or insert doors or stairs etc. But there is nothing to assemble for the castle. We just took it out and started playing with it. The castle measures about 28 cm height, 34 cm width and 24 cm deep. It is suitable for children aged 3 and above.

Ms C was quite sad that it didn’t come with Ben, Holly’s best friend. So I had to ask her to get her Ben from another playset to play together.

Inside this castle, there are a lots of magical, exciting play features. There is a floating magical throne that can slide up and down. Also there is a treasure chest with disappearing treasure. Both of my children are enchanted by it and kept saying magical spell words!

On the top level, there is a toy box which has a hidden slide that leads to the secret room below. Also by stirring the ladle in the Magic Cauldron it will reveal a food picture and open up the fridge.

There is also a hidden door flap that reveals Nanny Plum’s book of spells! Both my children were so excited with this castle and love all the features especially with all the hidden secrets! Ms C would have played it for hours if I didn’t ask her to stop to eat her dinner. She was totally engrossed with her imaginative play.

There are a few more playsets in this range and they can be connect together. I would recommend them to any Ben & Holly fan.

We have made a video to show you what it looks like, do take a look: https://youtu.be/HciaHDDW2pY

Fab that you don’t need to spend ages putting stickers on first. Thanks for sharing on #britmumsreviews

My daughter would love this – she adores Ben and Holly! It is a bit disappointing you don’t get Ben with it too.

Monkey surprised me by loving this series, think he’s probably a bit old for this now, but it looks lovely
