Going on holiday? Want to send an epostcard? With this Tickety Toc: Card Maker Time! app, your little one can create and send Tick Tocktastic “postcard-style” messages to family and friends via email. The app is available on iTunes, Amazon Appstore for Android and for NOOK devices for £1.99.
Not heard of Tickety Toc? Tickety Toc follows the everyday adventures of 6-year-old twins, Tommy and Tallulah, as they work to “chime the time” and keep everything running smoothly in Tickety Town. Traveling through the special Tickety Toc clock, where Tommy and Tallulah live, audiences enter a fantastical world of eclectic characters and tag along on exciting escapades filled with slapstick surprises. Tommy and Tallulah’s strong “can do” spirit often produces an unanticipated outcome, but their individual approach to sticky situations and joint resourcefulness always shine through and save the day! Through the twins’ madcap adventures, Tickety Toc explores teamwork, social responsibility and problem solving – important concepts for preschoolers as they learn and grow. Seen daily on Nick Jr and Milkshake.
With this app, children choose from 30 postcard designs within three different themes featuring Tommy & Tallulah, Spring Time and Pufferty. Then, they can either create or select to personalise their design by choosing from over 60 stickers and stamps, colouring tools, including spray paint, chalk, crayons and glitter. The difference between create and select is that in create mode, you can colour in your character while not in select.
Once done, they can take a photo of the postcard and send it to their loved ones for birthdays, holidays, or just because. Before they can send it, they need to key in their year of birth. Anyone under the age of 14, their postcard is virtually sent. If you are 14 and above, it will be sent via email using your iCloud (for mine). If your little one wanted to send it to their loved one, you have to help them to send it via email.
This postcard is sent by Ms C. Don’t you just love how they place such random stuff!
Overall this is quite a simple app that is great for younger children to be creative and imaginative. This app is more than I wish to pay for but if you have a little fan, they might love it!
