Street Fighter is one of the most iconic fighting game franchises of all time, but how many people can say they know what it’s really about? It was so popular in the 1980s when many arcades had at least two or three machines to keep up with demand!
I grew up playing Street Fighter with my cousins and friends in the arcades during the late 1980s. When we got the game on computer in the early 1990s, I can remember I used to have sore fingers by the time we finished a session on the game from all the button bashing! The most memorable character has got to be Ryu because whenever he throws a fireball, he will say Hadouken! Also, not forgetting the first female character in the series, Chun-Li. She represents many women who can win a fight with those big bad men!
American manufacturer of collectibles, Jada Toys, has recently launched a new range of Street Fighter 1:24 scale vehicles (Anime Hollywood Rides collection) and 6” deluxe figures! I am so excited to be able to share this news with my children. Even though they have not grown up with the Street Fighter game, it is great to show them a little piece of my childhood.
We have received this Chun-Li figure and the 1993 Mazda RX-7 die-cast car, which is available to buy from Amazon, for review. It comes in part clear packaging, which displays both items very clearly. The box was slightly damaged on arrival. If you are a collector, you might want to get it via the store to ensure you have an undamaged box. To remove the car and figure, you need one cross screwdriver (small) to remove the screws that secure both items.
This Chun-Li figure is very well made with a bit of weight. She stands quite sturdily. As many will know, she is known for her very muscular thighs for all high-speed kicking! She is dressed in a blue colour qipao (which resembles a cheongsam) to match the blue-coloured Mazda car. She has her signature ox horns hairstyle and bangs. The outfit has design patterns outlined with yellow colour accents and she is wearing white coloured combat boots. She also has spiked bracelets on each wrist.
This 1993 die-cast car is very realistic, well made and robust. The decals on the car are highly detailed and shouldn’t rub off. It comes with rubber wheels with no steering function. It features two opening doors, an opening front bonnet, an opening boot door, exhaust pipes, side mirrors and a car spoiler.
This die-cast car and figure set is excellent for play or display. Look out for this new Anime Hollywood Rides collection of Street Fighter vehicles and 6” deluxe figures! Bring a piece of the Street Fighter world into your home and add it to your collection today!
