Walkers Crisp

When I first came to England in 2002, my English ex-colleague introduced me to Walkers crisp and I never looked back. It is one of the best crisps I had since I was young. It’s a scrumptiously thin crispy crisp. It makes my mouth water whenever I see someone eating it.  Every crisp is always so well-seasoned and tasty.

Since the recession in 2007, people have been talking about buying British to help British businesses. I am glad to learn that Walkers has spent the last two years searching the UK to find only the best British ingredients.  Alongside the new tasty flavours and revamped packaging, Walkers have also reduced the salt content across many flavours including a 17% reduction in Salt & Vinegar.

Out of so many Walkers’ flavours, I personally prefer the Cheese & Onion. It is good to know that it is made from premium cheese from Somerset. Mr C’s favourite, Prawn Cocktail, uses the tomatoes from the Vale of Evesham. Mr K picked the Sour Cream & Chive where the sour cream is from Dorset. Ms C loves the Roast Chicken flavour and it is made from free range chicken from Devon.

As many of you know, Gary Lineker is the face of Walkers. To mark the launch of the Home Grown range, Walkers challenged Gary to go on a journey across the UK to visit Walkers farms and producers and taste test the home grown ingredients first hand. Gary enlisted his dad Barry Lineker, a market trader who ran Lineker’s fruit and vegetable stall in Leicester Market for over 40 years, to help him along. Give them a like or comment on YouTube if you like what they do!
