The Best UK Food Festivals in 2021

16 April 2021 by Eileen

Some of the more well-known food and cultural events that we missed out on will be taking place this year, but we’re also expecting a few new ones to pop up and share some of the spotlight. What better way to get the gang back together than organising a day trip to one of these spectacular events where you can wine and dine and make up for all that you missed out on in 2020.

The Best UK Food Festivals in 2021

Here are some of the top events to expect in the coming year. Make sure you’re wearing a loose pair of trousers, you’ll need the space! Let’s start in bonnie Scotland, with the Scottish Wild Food Festival.

Scottish Wild Food Festival (TBC)

Get involved and get your hands’ dirty foraging and walking around the beautiful Cardross Estate. Take part in the craft workshops, watch some of the wild food demonstrations, and eat until you can’t stomach another mouthful.

Take in the beautiful Scottish landscape while learning about and understanding how to use the land to your advantage to get the most flavour out as possible, delicious!

London Craft Beer Festival (13-15 August)

Recently, craft beer has taken the entire world by storm, and this festival is the ultimate celebration of what the industry has become. The fabulous Tobacco Dock will yet again host one of the greatest craft beer events this August.

The line-up includes some of the top breweries in the UK. Northern Monk, Verdant, and the North Brewing Company are among the few that will feature at the well-awaited event. Food stalls will, of course, be positioned near every beer tap and will offer up delectable street food delicacies. You can expect delicious food from the likes of Hoppers, Berber, and Q and Club Mexicana. Make sure you get there.

Meatopia (13-15 September)

Every meat-lovers dream will come true at this ultimate meat-fest. Meatopia will take place in September and will feature some of the best local, ethically sourced meat that has been prepared and cooked to perfection in many different ways.

The festival was created by Richard H Turner and the late Josh Ozersky, who founded the original American version. Over 40 of the most well-known chefs will be operating the grills, such as the Smoking Goat’s Ali Borer, Patty & Bun’s Matt Thompson, and Rovi’s Neil Campbell making an appearance. This event is also at Tobaco Dock.

National Geographic Traveller Food Festival (17 – 18 July)

You may not get the summer holiday abroad that you’ve been dreaming of, but this National Geographic event is sure to lessen the blow. Travel across the globe via your palate this July at London’s Business Design Centre.

Enjoy the likes of Jose Pizarro, who will be on the main stage, followed by Sichuan cook and food writer Fuschia Dunlop. Enjoy the colourful culinary delights associated with Peru and marvel at the techniques used by Ukraine chef Olia Hercules and Italian Aldo Zilli. Travel the world without leaving the country this summer!

Bigfoot Festival (18 – 20 June)

An event making its debut in the world of food festivals is this three-day celebration of all things food, drinks, music, and entertainment.

Set to be placed in the beautiful grounds of Ragley Hall located in Warwickshire, this event will see over 60 music acts and feature five stages surrounded by countless restaurants, chefs, and drinks producers. Excitingly, Silo’s Douglas McMaster will feature in the banqueting tent alongside Copenhagen’s Amass, Matt Orlando.

Their ‘Blackout Dining’ experience will highlight the preparing and cooking of a vegetarian feast without electricity. Around 200 guests will be offered a seat under the stars to enjoy this candlelit dinner of their dreams.

Taste of London (7 – 11 and 14 – 18 July)

The Taste of London is known to many as ‘the’ foodie festival to attend in 2021. This event will take place in Regent’s Park and feature some of the most exciting street food, products, and some of the industry’s best experts.

Cocktail and cooking masterclasses will take place every evening, and the Taste Theatre is a must for anyone looking to cook alongside some of the greatest culinary magicians.

Pembrokeshire Fish Festival (26 June – 4 July)

Locally sourced seafood is the star at this festival. Restaurants from across the country will prepare some of the best seafood dishes you have ever tasted or ever likely to taste (we hope).

With lots and lots for the children to do, including a kid’s cooking tent, storyteller’s grotto, and touch tanks, you’ll have plenty of time to wine and dine yourself while they’re kept busy.

Body&Soul (TBC)

Set in an Irish Castle, this food festival will take you on a culinary adventure. Ballinlough Castle will host this year’s three-day event and show off some of the best local innovative gourmet producers. The organisers will pair every meal with a delicious glass of bubbly chosen to compliment the food’s flavours. So good for the body and soul!

Fill your calendar for 2021 with all of these culinary adventures and travel through your tastebuds. It’s safer and far more delicious!
