Salter Cook App with Connected Thermometer & Kitchen Scale

3 March 2017 by Eileen

Welcome to the modern, connected kitchen with Salter Cook App with Connected Thermometer and Kitchen Scale. Recently, Salter, the UK’S No.1 brand for domestic weighing scales launched their Salter Cook App, along with connected scales and thermometer that uses Bluetooth to allow users to easily follow recipes and seamlessly control their tools via their tablets or smartphone.

Salter Cook App is free to download from the App Store and Google Play. The new Cook App allows users to search through Salter recipes or browse the internet and capture and add their favourite online recipes to their own personal cookbook. In my video, you will be able to see how easy it is to use the app with the kitchen gadget. It allows you to connect and control the scales and thermometer on one, easy-to-read screen. The measurements taken are displayed directly on your tablet/smartphone. The app pulls out key information such as ingredients, measurements, units, temperatures and cooking times whilst also helping you adjust portions and add categories to keep track of your favourite recipes. This Bluetooth kitchen scale looks very stylish with a white platform, compact design and is lightweight. It is definitely perfect for every modern household with limited storage! The on/off/zero button is very responsive and easy to use. The LCD backlit display is easy to read. It requires three AAA batteries which are included. This scale also allows you to switch between metric and imperial units easily. You can either change it via the scale or via the app. The maximum weight for this scale is 10 kg.

This Bluetooth thermometer gives a quick and accurate reading, straight to your tablet. I love that I am now able to read precise readings so no more burnt cakes again! I have a fan assisted oven and I find it hard to use the knob to adjust the temperature. I always wanted a digital oven so that I’m able to set the temperature more accurately. With this kitchen gadget, I think my oven will have to stay a bit longer! This thermometer is ideal for checking the temperatures of meat, confectionery, BBQ, jam and more.

This set comes with a temperature probe, oven probe, thermometer unit, oven clip and pan clip. It requires a cell battery which is included. Both probes are designed with a heat-proof cable so you can shut the wire in your oven as long as you leave the thermometer unit outside. The cable is very well made and long enough for you to reach your kitchen top. The magnetic back lets you position the thermometer unit on the side of the oven or other magnetic surfaces to keep it safe and easy to access. The thermometer unit is small and lightweight. It comes with clips provided which are very handy to hook inside the oven securely or on the pan. It requires you to use the app as it does not display the temperature on the unit itself. It doesn’t take long to connect the app and probe, and the thermometer is easy to use and wash.

Overall these two kitchen gadgets from Salter are very easy to use via the app and they are easy to clean. Both gadgets are well made and look modern. The Salter Cook Bluetooth Recipe Scale is £79.99 and the Salter Cook Bluetooth Thermometer is £49.99. They are available now from John Lewis and www.salterhousewares.co.uk. The app is very straightforward to use and to store my favourite recipes, and find inspiration for new ones. My recipes can also be shared with my family and friends via the app.

I have an older and basic model of the kitchen scale and it’s great. I had for years, I use it very often and I’m very happy with it. I might get this model when I’ll have to change the one that I have now.
