PELONIS PTC Ceramic Heater Review

28 March 2024 by Eileen

The cost of living has risen dramatically and with the lack of direct Government support for energy bills, many of us are feeling the squeeze. Instead of heating the whole house for just two of us, my husband and I have been using different forms of portable electric heating throughout the house. They are more cost effective and more efficient in targeted areas.

PELONIS PTC Ceramic Heater Review

We were pleased to receive this portable grey Pelonis electric heater for review. This is a 16 inch positive temperature coefficient (PTC) ceramic heater, which heats up to 20ºC in just 3 seconds. It is made from high-quality, flame-resistant cool-touch ABS UL94 V0 material. It features overheating and tip-over protection. It will not work on uneven surfaces. It comes with a 7°C tilt slant and 15 inch screen, which gives off 20% more heat coverage.

At the back of the heater, it comes with a carry handle for portability. The heater is sturdy and it weighs 2.13kg. Although there are no rubber feet on the base, the base is not scratchy at all. It should not leave scratch marks on your tiles. The cable is approximately 1.65 metres.

There are two knobs on the heater display: temperature control and power selection. The temperature control (900w – 2000w) enables you to maintain the desired room temperature by automatically switching on/off the fan heater. When you hear the pop sound, it means the temperature controller is on and you can adjust to the desired temperature level.

There are four heating modes: Low (1200w), High (2000w), Low (1200w) with oscillation function and High (2000w) oscillation function. The oscillation range is 70º degrees. I like that even when you change the heating element from Low to High or High to Low, the fan still blows at a consistent speed at 50dB. Watch the video here to see how the heater works: https://youtu.be/hLcx9AvtaCQ

PELONIS PTC Ceramic Heater pilot light

It is fitted with a pilot light that glows whenever the heater is in use. It will continue to glow even if the temperature has thermostatically turned the heating off. This is to prevent you from being unaware that the heater is operating and maintaining the temperature of the room. It will completely turn off when the heater is turned off.

This heater is very easy to use, heats up very quickly, works quite quietly and looks stunning in any room. I would recommend it. It is available to buy from Amazon or look out for Boxing Day Sales 2024.

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
