If you are a gamer and especially if you play Valorant, then you might know the Paper Rex team, who recently won the runners-up for #VALORANTMasters Copenhagen. They are a Singapore-based gaming organization built at the crossroads of entertainment, competitive esports, and merchandise.
Last week Sunday 21st August 2022, they unveiled a special commemorative mural of Paper Rex team members and their coach. This wall art was designed and painted by the talented Sam Lo, to celebrate the start of #VCT Champions Istanbul, which runs from 2nd to 18th September.
VALORANT Champions 2022 is an offline Turkish tournament organized by Riot Games, which will be held at the Volkswagen Arena. There will be a total of 16 teams from different regions battling against each other, and one of the teams is Paper Rex. Good luck to them and hope they can win and make Singapore proud.
My son is a big fan of Valorant and Riot Games and has been following a few gaming teams. He was thrilled to be able to see this Paper Rex mural on SCAPE on Orchard Road. Since we are holidaying in Singapore, of course, we ‘die die’ must visit and take photos. Can you name all the team players?
So, if you are in Singapore, do pop by to check out this giant mural of the Paper Rex team. You can either catch the MRT via Somerset or Orchard, and then walk towards SCAPE. It is within walking distance between 6 to 10 minutes from the station and very easy to find. The mural is just next to my daughter’s favourite fast food chain, McDonald’s.
One thing I love about Singapore McDonald’s is that it regularly comes out with inspired local menus. They never fail to impress. To celebrate Singapore’s 57th birthday on 9th August, McDonald’s launched its Singapore-inspired Laksa Delight Burger on 28 July 2022. This limited edition burger comes in a chicken or prawn patty.
We wanted to try both, but they ran out of the chicken patty on that day. So I went for the Laksa Delight Prawn Burger meal set which also comes with pulut hitam pie, fries and drink.
The crispy prawn patty is topped with creamy Laksa sauce, a round egg, fresh purple cabbage slaw and sandwiched in between two lightly-toasted butter buns. The patty is made from whole king prawns and not from prawn paste. It was so crispy and tasty.
The savoury pulut hitam pie is filled with purple sticky rice and coconut cream encased in a crispy pastry crust. It was so so good. We all loved it. And not forgetting getting ourselves the Teh C Frappé. This rich taste of Teh C is topped with whipped cream and chocolate powder. So refreshing! I would definitely recommend you to try it while it lasts.
