Come and lite up the night with Stranger Things! To celebrate the launch of the new series of Stranger Things Season 4 on Netflix and the amazing appearance of Lite Brite in episode 7, I am thrilled to receive this amazing Stranger Things Lite Brite special edition for review.
If you have not watched Stranger Things yet, I highly recommend you to check it out now. Did you know that recently the first part of Stranger Things season 4 broke Netflix’s original series premiere weekend viewership record? It racking up over 286.79 million hours viewed.
If you have watched it, you would have seen Dustin, Lucas and Erica use a Lite Brite toy to communicate with Steve, Robin, Nancy and Eddie who were trapped in the Upside Down to help rescue them.
Now you can get this special edition version Lite Brite Stranger Things for yourself (suitable for aged 14 plus) which is available to buy on Amazon. Inside the retro packaging, there is a Lite-Brite board, 650 micro pegs (three times more than the Ultimate Classic version), 12 high-definition design paper templates from the entire series and instructions.
The high-definition grid board comes with 50 percent more holes and with a stand. You can either place it with or without the stand. The on/off button is easy to locate behind the board and it is quite big. It requires three AA batteries, which are not included in the set. There are four colour-changing light modes: white light, all-flash, rotating flash, and alternating flash. I do find that the lighting is not very consistent, as some areas do not light up as brightly as others. Also, the 650 micro pegs come together in one bag. I am quite OCD and I decided to bag them individually into their own colour for easy identification.
The 12 templates consist of the Hellfire club, retro bunny, Demogorgon, Demogorgon hunters, waffle, Walkie Talkie, Stranger Things, RUN lights, Dragon, Hawkins High Tiger, the Surfer Boy pizza van and The Upside Down. Before I use the paper template, I photocopied it for future use. Once the template was used, it can’t be reused as it will have a lot of holes. Hence I have the photocopy as a backup.
I placed the template onto the board before inserting the micro pegs. It is not easy to insert the micro pegs with the template on it. It does make my fingers ache to search for the holes. Freestyling without the template is a lot easier to insert the micro pegs in.
Personally, I love it! It not only looks retro, but it’s also fun to display my creations to my children or visitors. Now I can use this Lite Brite to communicate with them. This Lite Brite makes a great gift for any Stranger Things fans or as a general stocking filler.
