Laser Pegs Multi-Models Review

14 November 2021 by Eileen Leave a Comment

As the dark winter nights are fast approaching, Laser Pegs are here to brighten up your child’s imagination with their awesome choices of construction playsets! It offers every child a new and illuminating brick building concept to discover. There are over 15 different types of playsets to choose from: The Jaeger, Iron Octopod, Hornet & Grasshopper, F35 Jet, Vehicle, Tiger and many more.

We were delighted to receive the 4-in-1 Microhawk Faucon and 5-in-1 VTOL Sparhawk sets for review. Both playsets are suitable for eight years old and above. They use LR41 batteries which are all included inside the Light Up Bricks. My 12 year old daughter Ms C and I took around an hour each to build these two impressive sets.

First, let’s take a look at the 4-in-1 Microhawk Faucon set where you can build four different models: Transport, Cobra, Trainer and Microhawk Faucon. There are a total of 117 pieces. The included instructions provide details on how to build the Microhawk Faucon. For the other models, you are required to go to laserpegs.com, select Manual, and search for 2021 Spring Multi Models. Then select the models you wish to build and download the file.

The step-by-step instructions with pictures are easy to follow. However, sometimes we find it hard to determine from the instructions if the brick to use is clear or white. Many of the bricks are either clear or white in order to allow the light to pass through and illuminate the models. Hence my daughter who is colour blind requires plenty of help to identify the colour of the bricks.

As you can see from the photo, the packaging is not numbered so we just opened all the bags and used the box for storage.

The bricks have a plasticky feel and at times, it was quite hard to put two pieces together even for me as an adult. Other than that, it is quite easy to build. It helps with fine motor skills and encourages independent play, problem-solving and inquisitive thinking. It is also great to help children understand how the battery powers the lights through the bricks.

Next, we have the 5-in-1 VTOL Sparhawk set where you can build five different models: Warthog, Chinook, L.P.A.H.-1, Bi-Plane and VTOL Sparhawk. There are a total of 172 pieces. Instructions are provided to build the VTOL Sparhawk model. For the other models, you will require to go onto the website, select Manual, and search for 2021 Spring Multi Models.

Overall, they are good construction playsets to build with your child. My daughter loves these light-up models and she understands that the models have to be played with care. They are available to buy from good toy retailers.

Disclosure: We received the samples for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
