Watchd is a very affordable smartwatch that helps you keep track of your health and stay connected with your family and friends. This Gen 2 smart looking watch is packed with many great features, and comes in three colour strap choices, which are white, rose gold and black. I have received the white strap is a great colour choice for me as it looks very stylish.
It comes in this compact and well-presented box which can be simply gifted without wrapping. Inside the box, it comes with a Watchd smartwatch, USB-C charging cable and user guide.
To charge the smartwatch, simply align the charger to the charging pins located on the back of the watch and plug directly into a USB socket. As the charger uses magnetic charging, it will attract when placed correctly or repel when it is placed in the wrong direction. You can’t get it wrong! It only takes 70 minutes for a full charge. In our experience, we do have to charge it every three to four days depending on the usage. If you use it to play music constantly, the battery does run dry very quickly. In my video below, I will show you how the music app works on the watch.
First, let’s take a look at the watch itself. The design watch looks beautifully made. It is smooth around all corners with great casing on the back and sides. I am very impressed, especially since the price is scarily affordable and the watch looks really expensive! It comes with a dial on the right side, which acts as a back function and an on/off button. On the other side, there is a speaker for the sound. The watch straps can be removed or replaced by sliding them off, which I will show you in my video how I did it. The watch is waterproof to IP68 level and can be worn while washing hands, showering or swimming (maximum depth of 1.5m underwater for up to an hour) etc. On the watch’s sport exercise features, you are unable to track swimming activity.
This smartwatch works with any smartphone. You are required to download the “M Active” app via the App Store or Play Store. Once you download the app, you will need to pair the smartwatch with the phone using Bluetooth, and by synchronising, it will set up the date and time. It is very straightforward to set up and didn’t take me long at all.
The app is easy to navigate and I was able to access and read the data without any problems. I have my Bluetooth on constantly on my phone to get it to synchronise. Watchd can display incoming calls, messages, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, WeChat, Twitter, QQ, Skype, and more! I had a few messages via my Amazon Prime apps and also text messages. It is easy to input my details but I did have trouble selecting the watch face I wanted. The amount you can do with it is very impressive and the only thing lacking is that you can’t reply via your watch.
Before I go into the features, let’s take a look when you swipe right on the watch face! The Sport Exercise tracking shortcut will appear. There are walking, running, climbing, cycling, table tennis, badminton, football and basketball for you to track. Just hit GO and it will track how long you are doing the activity.
When you swipe down, it will show you information about the watch itself, battery life, to add an alarm, on/off button, QR code and to select the main menu style (smart style or 9 apps).
When you swipe up, it will show you if you have been connected. When you swipe left, it will show you the main menu. I have chosen the smart style in which you move the icon to select the feature.
This smartwatch is packed with so many useful features. It does have sleep tracking if the watch is worn overnight. It has activity level monitoring & tracking, lung health tracking (blood oxygen saturation), vibration smart alarm, step tracking, heart rate tracking, blood pressure monitoring, temperature and you can use the watch to find your phone.
It also has a calculator, a feature to control your camera by snapping photos via your phone for you, playing music, making phone calls, looking up your contacts and a timer.
There is a motion feature where you can flip your arm to mute incoming, wake up, alarm or answer calls!
