House Renovation Ideas

27 August 2020 by Eileen

House Renovation Ideas: In this short guide, we explore various methods and approaches to renovating a home. When it comes to home renovations, there are plenty of areas to consider such as the possibility of remodelling a kitchen, fitting a new bathroom and adding a conservatory.

House Renovation Ideas

First, let’s consider what might be involved in redecorating a bedroom. The most obvious fitting of this room is of course the bed. There are many sizes, styles and designs to choose from if you’re planning to replace your bed such as single, double, queen and king-sized beds.

If you’re keen to save on space, you can always purchase a fold-up or storage bed. Another great way to save on bedroom space is with fitted wardrobes. While they can be costly, these wardrobes offer a level of quality and storage that ordinary standalone wardrobes generally do not.

Of course the walls are an important consideration with any room. Whether it is a bedroom, kitchen or living room, often light colours such as sea blue, lavender and pale green are among the best options.

You may wish to add new layers of paint but if you’d rather have new wallpaper added, there are various types to choose from ranging from vinyl coated fabric to grasscloth wallpaper.

You should also consider repainting the ceiling as otherwise it may stand out as being less up to date compared with the rest of the room.

For a bathroom, bright colours are the best option. As for the flooring, while carpet or laminate flooring is arguably the best for a bedroom and wooden, vinyl or laminate floorboards are the most suitable for a kitchen or living room, tiling is the most common choice for bathrooms.

You should also consider what appliances or utilities you’d like to replace around the home. In a kitchen, you may wish to have a new fridge, freezer, oven or microwave added. It might also interest you to buy smart appliances so that you can truly bring your home into the 2020s.

What about adding a conservatory? There are various types to choose from such as a Victorian, Edwardian, Off The Wall or Orangery conservatory.

As for extensions in general, you may also be interested in a single storey extension to give your home a complete revamp.

Whichever changes you bring to your home, you should give it some time to think it through and plan out the alterations before making purchases!
