Do you think you have what it takes to answer this family-friendly quiz questions? iKNOW Family is a brand new trivia game made from the well-known company, Tactic Games. This is a family quiz game that is suitable for aged 12 and above and for two to six players. It comes with 200 cards, a small square game board, 6 iKNOW tokens, 12 iBET tokens, 12 iBET discs plus 12 spares, 50 scoring chips (25 white and 25 black), 1 category transparent chip and instructions.
The concept of playing this game is the same as other iKNOW games, except the questions are generally family friendly general knowledge questions. If you have played other iKNOW games, you will probably know that the game also includes a betting element that gives you a chance to win no matter how much – or how little – you know as long as you know who does or doesn’t know. Do you think that your family/friend knows the answers to theirs? Try to steal points by outsmarting others!
This game requires minimal setup. Before the first game, insert iBET discs into the iBET tokens. There are 24 coloured iBET discs which you will only need 12. The rest of the iBET discs can be used as spare. Take out two same coloured iBET discs with one with a tick and one with a cross. Be careful not to insert two of the same iBET discs into the iBET tokens.
The game board is very simple to understand. There are A, B, C and D answering spaces where players place their iKNOW token on it. There are two iBET spaces for players to place their bet, either space will do. Place the category transparent chip on the category you would like to answer. To be honest, I didn’t bother to place the chip.
To play the game, everyone has to agree if they would like a quick or normal game. Once decided, the instructions suggest to take out the number of questions cards according to the table shown but I preferred to leave it in the box and count the cards used to avoid revealing the answers. Each player gets three white scoring chips and iBET tokens of the same colour to start.
iKNOW Family Quiz comes with 800 questions in four categories, and they are: Entertainment, Sports, Science & Nature and The 2000s. To play, the player chooses the category they would like to answer. Once the question is read, the other players place their bet on whether the player will answer the question correctly. Then the player will place his/her iKNOW token on the answering space. If any of the other players think the player has chosen the wrong answering option, they can try to steal some points. Take 1 or 2 of the scoring chips and place them in the answering space they think is the right one, with their iKNOW token on the top. Players will win or lose points depending if they have answered correctly or incorrectly. Each player will be awarded accordingly to the instructions. The game ends when the questions from the last card have been scored and the player with the highest score wins.
This game is not very hard to set up and easy to play. We all had fun testing ourselves with the questions. Some questions are really hard to answer! I had to guess most of the answers! But this is a great challenging game to test our knowledge. It is available to buy now from good toy retailers, online shop and Amazon.
