Tsumbay Wake Up Light Alarm Clock Review

11 March 2018 by Eileen

Tsumbay wake up light alarm clock is a neat and stylish touch LED bedside lamp, shaped like a rectangular cylinder. It is very lightweight, portable and small enough not to take up too much space on your bedside table.

This alarm clock comes with one USB charging cable and instructions. It can run on the rechargeable battery (lasts around 2 to 10 hours depends on the brightness level) or while plugged in through the USB adaptor, which is not included. When it is charging, the screen will display the battery with a flash icon. However, this icon will continue to display even when it is fully charged. The icon will only go off when unplugged. When the battery is low, the battery mode icon will flash.

I do find that the LED display lighting is far too dim for my liking. I think it is always on power saving mood to conserve the battery. You are unable to tell the time and other symbol icons from a distance during the day unless it is in a dark room.

Setting this alarm clock is very straightforward. The buttons located at the base of the light are easy to identify which is which. To set the time, you choose between 12- or 24-hour format. As for alarm clock, after you select the time, you get to choose the sounds. In my version, note that there is an error in the instructions. Instead of pressing the HOUR button to confirm, you press the ALARM clock to confirm.

The alarm clock comes with five natural sounds, instead of the usual beep sound. The five sounds are: Thrush singing, Kingfisher singing, Cuckoo singing, Waves, and Thunderstorm. Personally, I prefer the Thrush singing than the Thunderstorm! If you set your alarm, the light will turn on automatically before 30 minutes of alarm time, slowly brighten up with 20 levels of brightness to bring you out of deep sleep and wakes you with a natural, gradually brightening light, helping you feel refreshed and energetic all day.

You can use this alarm clock as a bedside/table lamp. It comes with three levels warm-white light mode activated by a gentle tap on the silver touch panel on the top of the lamp. It cycles through low (night light), medium (normal) and high (for reading).

To have the 256 colour light changing mode, hold the silver touch panel for two seconds and it will automatically change the colour. Tap on the silver touch panel on a colour you like, then tap again to return to auto light changing mode. My children love this function and it’s definitely a great selling point for having this alarm clock! You can get this Tsumbay Wake Up Light Alarm Clock from Amazon.com and it will be shipped to the UK!
