Star Wars Toys: Bring The Galaxy To Life

23 December 2017 by Eileen

This Christmas season, we are thrilled to work with Hasbro again to show you the latest Star Wars The Last Jedi toys! This highly-anticipated new toy line and expansive collection of figures, vehicles, and more, celebrate the debut of Star Wars: The Last Jedi on this year’s Force Friday II! Have you watched it yet?

Star Wars Bring The Galaxy To Life with Hasbro Star Wars Toys

Today, we were fortunate to receive the Force Link Starter set, Kylo Ren Interactech figure, Princess Leia Organa & R2-D2, Bladebuilders 2in1 Path of The Force Lightsaber and Rey of Jakku extendable staff first hand to extend our playtime this Christmas. Both my children were very excited with these toys and can’t wait to bring the galaxy to life!

Force Link Starter Set

This is a wearable Force Link that activate lights, sounds, and phrases in Force Link-activated figures, accessories, vehicles, and playsets! This is a new way of recreating the adventures of a galaxy far, far away by using the Force Link to give the children the sound effects and phrases from the Star Wars movies right in the palms of their hands!

star wars Force Link Starter Set

This set comes with a 3.75-inch scale, movie-inspired Star Wars Kylo Ren figure and Force Link. It requires three AAA batteries which are not included.

To play, simply place the Force Link on your wrist by using the adjustable belt to tighten and by tapping on it to turn on or for more sounds. Each time you pick up a figure, it will activate phrases and by moving the figure forward or side to side, it activates additional effects. Mr K finds it really cool to play with it.

Kylo Ren Interactech Figure

This Star Wars: The Last Jedi Kylo Ren Interactech figure is a very impressive interactive figure with over 60 different sound effects and phrases. He is wearing all black and includes a helmet and removable lightsaber. This impressive figure stands at 12-inches tall and has a motion sensor to respond to specific movements like lunging forward or dropping the figure will activate awesome battle effects.

Kylo Ren Interactech Figure with helmet

He is mostly made of hard plastic except for part of his clothing. He also comes with a few points of articulation in his left wrist, arms and leg. I love every detail on this figure and it is very well made.

Before you use this figure, make sure you switch it from ‘Demo’ to ‘On’. Otherwise it will keep saying the same phrase over and over again! The switch can be found behind his back. It requires two AA batteries which are included with the figure.

And of course, he should be in league with his own Imperial Stormtroopers! Read more over here.

Princess Leia Organa & R2-D2

Princess Leia Organa is an 11-inch tall figure features beautiful rooted brunette hair, and a removable vest, boots and blaster. She is a very well made figure. I do find it hard to make her stand on her own, this is due to the feature of her legs. By squeezing both of her legs, she is able to twist her body and aim the blaster at her opponents.

R2-D2 is a 4-inch tall figure with articulation in his head and legs. I love the details which are very accurate.

Bladebuilders 2in1 Path of The Force Lightsaber

This is a 2in1 Path of The Force lightsaber that allows young Padawans to either choose to follow the dark side or the light side! To be on the dark side, simply attach the red Sith blade to automatically activate red light effects. To be on the light side, switch to the Jedi connector piece to automatically activate blue light effects.

Star Wars Bladebuilders 2in1 Path of The Force lightsaber

This lightsaber is just one of the BladeBuilders collection. To expand for ultimate customisation, you can combine this lightsaber with other compatible lightsabers (each sold separately) to battle! This comes with lightsaber, red Sith blade connector, Jedi connector and instructions.

Star Wars Bladebuilders 2in1 Path of The Force lightsaber review

The lightweight lightsaber comes with 3 AAA demo batteries which should be changed. The on/try me/off button can be found on the handle. Once it is turned on, it will light up and make noise. It will change its colour according to the connector. The battling noise is not too loud. The lightsaber can be extended up to 58cm long by flicking it out.

Building the lightsaber is pretty straightforward. Simply slot it in and turn clockwise to lock it. To release the lightsaber from the connector, press the red button and turn anti-clockwise. The whole process is very smooth and easy.

We love the red Sith blade where you can extend the blade by pressing the red button to activate it. The Jedi piece also comes with a hidden knife that can be activated by a push of your finger. Both premium connectors are awesome and loved by my children.

Rey of Jakku Extendable Staff

It comes with a highly detailed staff and two changeable end pieces. The materials on the centre of the staff are slightly rubbery which makes it comfortable to hold and spin. This staff can be customised with BladeBuilders Lightsabers (each sold separately) and the two changeable end pieces snaps out to over 104cm.

Star Wars Force of Destiny Rey of Jakku extendable staff

Both of my children were thrilled to play with these and now can’t wait to play with them with their friends. I would recommend these to any Star Wars fans because you can customise these lightsabers to your heart’s content. Overall the quality is great and feels very sturdy when built. I love the details on the lightsabers and staff. They are available to buy from good toy shops and Amazon.
