Aveeno Review

October 26, 2014 by Eileen Leave a Comment

A few months ago at Britmums Live, I met the PR company for Aveeno who told us about their products and new book – The Dry-ventures of Ellie & Eddie. We are no strangers to Aveeno as Mr K has been using Aveeno since he was three years old and he is on a regular prescription for all the Aveeno products.

Aveeno keeps his skin moisturised to reduce the frequency of flare-ups. The AVEENO® range for dry, sensitive skin is designed to help in the management of this challenging skin condition. AVEENO® products containing Colloidal Oatmeal are clinically proven to help restore the epidermal barrier (the top layer of skin) leaving skin feeling soft and comfortable. Oats have long been known for their soothing and anti-irritant properties, with oat proteins leaving a protective barrier on the skin which prevents water loss and maintains moisture.

Aveeno reviewWe have received three different products: cream, bath & shower oil and lotion. The cream is to soothe and comfort dry, sensitive skin. It is not too thick and creamy, and absorbs into the skin quickly. It comes in 100ml, 300ml and 500ml. The Bath & Shower Oil cleanses, moisturises and conditions, leaving skin soft and hydrated. It turns white creamy when it touches water. It comes in a 250ml bottle. The lotion is a lighter formula for long lasting protection and all-over comfort for dry, sensitive skin. It comes in 500ml bottle.

Beside the products, we also received their new book called Bye Bye Dry Skin which is part of the series of books that follow the adventures of Ellie and Eddie. They have teamed up with acclaimed children’s author Penelope Harper with the aim of helping parents and children alike manage and address the difficulties of having dry, eczema-prone skin. Ellie and Eddie are very active characters who love to play outside. They are forever exploring their surroundings and looking for new adventures, yet both struggle with ways to manage their dry, eczema-prone skin. The book explains their day-to-day scenarios that commonly trigger or aggravate their skin and provide readers with insight into managing dry, eczema-prone skin, so that kids can do what they know best – play! The book is easy to read and the illustrations are very colourful. My children enjoy listening to the story. We are looking forward to reading more of this series for them to understand more about their eczema.

This book is available to download from the Aveeno website: http://www.aveeno.co.uk/childrens-dry-skin
