I remember growing up watching The Sooty Show in the 1980s, presented by Matthew Corbett. But Sooty’s history stretches back as far as the ’60s. It’s main characters are Sooty (yellow bear), Sweep (Grey dog) and Soo (Panda).
In this, The Sooty Magic Show DVD, it is about Sooty, Sweep, Soo and Richard (current presenter) in six new magical adventures. It features: The Magic Show, Sooty of the Seven Seas, Poorly Soo, The Alarm System, The Sports Day and Drive in the Country. In this DVD, world famous magicians Paul Daniels and his wife Debbie Magee join Sooty in his magic show.
This was the first time watching Sooty for both of my children and they both enjoyed it. They loved the silly magic tricks and them being silly. Ms C even took out her magic wand and mimicked “Izzy wizzy, let’s get busy!”. Arguably, Mr K enjoyed it the most judging by how much laughter was coming from him. However, after sometime, they both got bored of it as it is not always doing magic. I rate this DVD 3 stars out of 5. It is great to watch but it is not something that my children would want to watch constantly.

I can’t stand any of them, but that comes from having to watch the same video over and over and over again when my son was little, he couldn’t get enough of it! I’d love to win for my grandchildren as they love Sooty too, and I wouldn’t have to watch it hahaha!
