Baker Days Letter Box Christmas Cake

7 December 2012 by Eileen

Has anyone heard of letter box cakes? Why not pop to Baker Days website and have a look what they offer?  I was amazed by the gorgeous personalised scrumptious cake that arrived beautifully presented through my letterbox. It came in a beautiful yellow colour cake tin with a Baker Days logo ribbon across the tin. Inside, there was a mini Christmas card, a cracker and a cake! The instructions informed me of how to remove the cake from the cellophane wrapper without damaging the cake.

It had taken the Baker Days team nearly a year to get this concept up and running. Their Letterbox Gift cakes (3 – 4 portions) will turn anyone’s day into a very special one, it’s the perfect petite Birthday, Get Well and I Love you cake. It slips through the door and creates a real sparkling champagne moment, including a neat keepsake tin, balloons, candles, card and now BFPO approved. Their large Party Cakes (10 – 50 portion) and Cupcakes will all taste like you made them yourself and personalised just as you want them.

With over 400 designs to choose from, it’s easy to find just the right design.  Of course, every cake can be personalised with your special message and a photo. The website is very easy to use and provides beautiful cake for a variety of celebratory occasions. There are a wide range of cake types and fillings including; sponge (standard cake), fruit cake (extra cost), gluten free and wheat free cake (extra cost), carrot cake (extra cost) and double chocolate chip (extra cost).

I opted for the Father Christmas double chocolate chip letter box cake! The cake was very moist inside and you can see every piece of thick chocolate chip. It didn’t last long on our plates, we finished it within a few seconds – they are so delicious. The icing is very thin which I liked so it was not overly sweet.I was not disappointed by the size of the cake at all as it is explained clearly on the website. It just fit into my letterbox!

I give this cake 5 stars out of 5. I think this will make a perfect gift for any occasion. For men who don’t like shopping, you can order this at ease in your own home to surprise your loved one! I would highly recommended Baker Days to any of my friends!

This is our second time trying out Baker Days letterbox cakes on June 2013. They are gorgeous mini cakes. We had our cake personalised with the image of our logo and this is our video review: https://youtu.be/btaohv_evTQ
