Recently, you may have seen on Twitter or Facebook a trend of people sharing Christmas in July which reminded me that we’re over halfway through the year and so Christmas is not that far off now! It is always a holiday I look forward to because it is a day that is usually filled with laughter with families. Anyway, I am going to give a twist to this Christmas dinner I made. It is a kind of Asian fusion meal with a summer twist!
When you think about Christmas, you will think about Turkey! So sticking with tradition, I am using Turkey meat. However, that’s where the similarities end as I wanted to use my Asian background to make it a fusion between the two cultures.

Last year, I wrote a post about celebrating the little things for Freixenet and won a mixologist party. So last week was my birthday and I invited a few of my friends over for my cocktail party. It also tied in nicely with the blog I wrote not long ago about how I am going to plan my cocktail party. Do check them out!
The bartender, Luke came an hour early to set up his cocktail table before we started the party. I was amazed how he managed to set up his counter so quickly and neatly. He had plenty of supplies and even had a cocktail menu!
Cocktail parties are great for social gatherings with your family and friends for any occasion. Of course, they are also great for house warmings or even birthday party!
I always love to make my own hors d’oeuvres, canapés and sweet desserts from scratch when it comes to the party. However, as a cocktail party is all about the cocktails, as a host, I love the idea that minimal snacks need to be served. After the party, I will still have time to enjoy my nights rest than worry about cooking more food for our guests!
Next week Thursday 19th February is the first day of Chinese New Year and also happens to be half term so we won’t have a Chinese club lesson next week. Therefore, we had our CNY party a week early to celebrate with all the children and parents.

The hand spa measures 30.5cm x 9cm x 25.5cm. It is suitable for children aged 5 and above. It requires 4 AA batteries to power the waterfall. Setting it up is very simple and straightforward. Make sure you have a hand towel nearby to clean up all the water drips. After installing the batteries, press the waterfall spout into the slot in the basin until it fits snug. Fill the hand spa basin with clean water and pour in water beads but do not overfill the basin with too many water beads. Turn it on and you will see the water beads and water swirl around the spa and the water will cascade down the waterfall. Rest your hands inside the hand spa basin and massage your hands by playing with the water beads or using the nail care tool. Then take your hand out to dry before you buff your nails.

Yesterday, I received a huge box full of #NickJrCraftmas goodies in preparation for the Twitter party. The party box contains eight different types of Christmas crafts to make, two edible craft activities, goodie boxes filled with treats, marshmallow cupcake ingredients, activity sheets and many more! Everything will be revealed soon! Look out for my post-party blog post if you can’t join in with us on Monday.
Yesterday, we all had such a great DesignaFriend party at home with our little guests. It was very manic and messy at times. We have received Florence and Madison for our little guests to play with. All of them saw the dolls and just wanted to play with them. I had to keep separating them away from the dolls otherwise we’d have never been able to do our activities!

A few months ago, I applied to host an André Rieu’s Week of the Waltz Party via Come Round and was lucky to be picked to host it. Last Tuesday, I received two parcels. Inside there were André Rieu masks, eye masks, pens, a poster, banner, snacks and along with three sample discs.
Tomorrow we are having a special at-home viewing party to watch the How To Train Your Dragon 2 movie! Do come and join in with us!

This half term has come thick and fast and we are already past hump day! To keep us busy this half term, we did a Halloween challenge with Warburtons! We have received a range of Warburtons goodies along with some spooky Halloween themed props to get both children to be as creative as possible!
