National Stationery Week 2015

Did you know that this week is the National Stationery Week, starting from 27 April until 3 May 2015? It has been running for quite a few years and it aims to get people talking about stationery and writing more. As technology has become so advanced, it means less and less people write down notes and everything has gone digital.

I still remember I used to write my school projects by hand and cut out pictures from magazines or newspapers to stick it into my project. Times have changed and everything is typed up on a computer or tablet.

I still like to write whenever I can. I find that the more I write using stationery, the more I remember it. Writing helps improve memory but also great for those crosswords and sudokus!

National Stationery Week with Maped Helix

Earlier this month, I was fortunate to get invited to Maped Helix’s head office in Kingswinford to learn about their history and test out their latest innovative products. Interestingly, they have been based in the West Midlands for over 100 years.

National Stationery Week is a celebration of the written word and encourages the nation to put pen to paper. It is organised by the London Stationery Show. This year, globally-renowned stationery Maped Helix are one of the sponsors of both 2015’s National Stationery Week and the Get Britain Writing campaign which runs from 27 April to 3 May 2015. If you would like to get involved, follow the hashtag #LoveStationery and #natstatweek

Stapleless Chinese New Year Lantern

In these coming months, I will be partnering with a few major retailers for the National Stationery Week (27 April – 3 May 2015) to get Britain writing, and to focus on the importance of handwriting.

This week I have received this staple free stapler from KOKUYO, Japan’s leading stationery brand. Harinacs staple free stapler holds sheets of paper without using metal staples (maximum of 6 sheet of paper at a weight of 80 gsm). This innovative and quirky stapler comes in three different designs and in a range of fun colours; including pink, blue, green, brown, white and black. They are available to buy from www.stonegift.com. So I am using Harinacs staple to make a stapleless Chinese New Year lantern.

National Stationery Week with BIC ®

To celebrate National Stationery Week, which runs from 31 March – 6 April, BIC ® has chosen some of their best-loved products to get you scribbling, doodling or list-jotting.

We had put them into testing!  Firstly, I love the BIC® Cristal® Stylus!  A ballpoint pen that also works with as a touch screen tool.  The stylus technology in the rubber tip makes it perfect for net-surfing, note-taking and game-playing, giving the user more accuracy, greater precision and easier navigation.  At the other end is a pen which can write up to 3km, reliability you’d expect from a BIC Cristal.  Ideal for those who love their tablets and smartphones but hate unsightly fingerprints and smudges, the Cristal Stylus is available at an RRP of £2.49. The affordable price means that everyone can freely enjoy the BIC Cristal Stylus, keeping their screens pristine and smear-free.  I think these are fantastic.
