My DIY Turnip for Lichfield Mandarin Club

Yesterday was our last lesson for our Lichfield Mandarin Club and we held an end of term party with food and performances from the children. After nine months of hard work, our children are able to speak Mandarin. They are still working on their writing but still we are very proud of their improvement.

Me and my Bubbaroo Joey Swag

Many parents will have heard about Sudden Infants Death Syndrome (SIDS). To reduce the risk, babies should sleep with their face uncovered (no duvets, doonas, pillows, lambs wool, bumpers or soft toys). Personally, I think having a baby in the sleeping bag will reduce the risk. Hence, Mr K has been using his sleeping bag since he was three months old and even now he is still loves to wear his sleeping bag. Sleeping in a sleeping bag makes him feel very secure and keeps him warm at all times. He’ll wear his sleeping bag through all seasons and we can only prise it off him during the hottest summer evenings (read: rarely!).

Ms C doing her catwalk with Sprogs Inc

Sprogs Inc is a new online children’s boutique company launched officially in May 2013. They offer clothes, shoes, toys and gifts for children aged 0 to 8 years. They stock British, European and American brands and produce their own label clothes too.
Ms C loved doing her catwalk in her heels and showing off her new clothing from Sprogs Inc Capsule Mix and Match Set – Four Pieces.

Vanish Oxi Action and Oxi Action Crystal White

My mum has used Vanish for many years now so Vanish is a brand that has always stayed close to me. Each time I go back to Singapore, there will be a pink bottle sitting next to her washing machine. However, both our children suffer from eczema so we have steered clear of any fabric stain removal products or bio washing powders. That mean our clothings are looking dull, faded and full of stains.

My new look with New Look

Next week, I have booked a professional photo shoot with our regular photographer, Sue. She is my children’s model agency’s recommended photographer and we have our photo taken every 6 months. Children change so much in their first few years of their lives and having their photo taken will be great for their portfolio.
This time, I will take this opportunity to make a major change on my blog again. Yes, after having used my ‘new’ design template/photo for 4 months now, I have something in store again.
As a stay at home mum, I hardly go clothes shopping and I have been re-wearing the same old clothes from two years ago. Now I need to sort out my summer clothing before the photography session. I love to do online shopping before I go down to the high street shop to get it or get it by home delivery.
New Look is one of my favourite high street shops in Lichfield. Before wondering in store, I had a look at their website and found these items of clothing.
I have a few ideas/themes in mind which I am going to give you some clues for. Shall I go for:

My new sculpture body with speedo

Every half term, my husband and I like to bring both our children to the local swimming baths for a family fun swim. It is usually my husband who accompanies them in the water while I sit in the viewing gallery. I am embarrassed to put on my swimming costume since I put on three dress sizes after my first pregnancy. I have never been happy with my body since, and research shows that 79% of women say that don’t know of a female who is happy with her body.

Spitter Spatter Cloth Review

Recently, I was contacted to review some children’s clothing that combats germs.  I was excited to read the email from Angela, CEO and co-founder, where she explained how it works.  I always worry for the children and make sure they all wear long sleeves or jacket to protect them from dirts.  I realise I maybe over-protective sometimes but this is a natural instinct for all parents.

Spitter Spatter is a Raleigh, NC based Children’s Clothing company making Antibacterial & Stain Resistant clothing for infants and toddlers. Their mission is to help children grow, learn and explore in a cleaner, healthier, happier environment through sustainable clothing.

Darth Vader Review

I am reviewing a Star Wars Darth Vader kindly provided by Jokers’ Masquerade fancy dress through Direct2Mum website. Jokers’ Masquerade has one of the largest collections of fancy dress costumes and Halloween costumes in the UK today and has been in business and selling on the Internet since 2001. They have a 40,000 sq ft warehouse complex and orders placed before 4.00pm are shipped on the day of receipt (excluding weekends and Bank Holidays) complete with order and parcel tracking.

Vertbaudet Casting for Ms C

Today, I had a busy day. After attending Mr K’s parent-only school meeting, I had to rush back to pick Mr K and Ms C up for a casting for Vertbaudet at Alan Sharman’s agency.
When arrived at 4 pm and there are massive queue for the casting. Lots of nervous parents, playful children and their siblings around. It was surprising that most children had both parents coming along with them to the casting. Don’t their parents need to work? As for me, I had Mr K come along for moral support! I also saw a parent bring five children to the agency! How did she manage that?
During this time, Ms C told me she was scared and she wanted to go home. I had to calm her down and play with her. Soon though, she became more comfortable and started to play with Mr K.
