Make More Space In Your Bedroom With These Tips

16 February 2021 by Eileen Leave a Comment

Our bedrooms are a place we spend a lot of time. Whether you sleep in there, read, or get ready, the bedroom is a space we would all love to be bigger and more convenient. Although you may not easily be able to change the size of your room, you can maximize its space. Those looking for ways to make more room in the bedroom for extra comfort and convenience, follow this guide.

Make More Space In Your Bedroom With These Tips

Upgrade Your Wardrobes

Storing clothes, shoes, and other essentials in drawers or free-standing cabinets may be taking up a lot of unnecessary space. Installing built-in wardrobes will mean you have a place to store all of your essentials without them sticking out and taking up your floor space.

For extra convenience, you could add mirrors to the doors. This eliminates the need for a full-length floor mirror, which makes more room. It will also make your room feel airier and spacious as the natural light bounces off of the mirror to enhance and brighten the room.

Install Double-Glazed Windows

On the topic of enhancing natural light, installing double-glazing will help maximize the light that comes into your bedroom. Remove any curtains and blinds so that as much light can get through as possible.

Double-glazing will also make your room warm in the winter as well as cool in the summer. These windows regulate heat and trap it between the layers, which helps your room maintain warmth and coolness, depending on the weather.

Add Shelves

We can often clutter our bedroom surfaces with clothes, jewelry, and products. Instead, add these to wall shelves. This will make more space on your surfaces and more room to store essential items or leave them bare for a minimal look.

Use An Ottoman Bed

An ottoman bed is a great multi-purpose furnishing. They are regular beds with underneath storage space. Ottoman beds offer any bedroom a multi-use solution. They use gas-lift hydraulics to lift and hold up the base, revealing storage space underneath to hold any number of bits and pieces you may need to store.

Attach Lights To The Wall Or Ceiling

If you are currently using floor lamps to illuminate your room in the evening, switch it for a wall or ceiling lamp. Floor lamps can take up floor space, which can be used for storage or a chair.

Don’t Be Afraid Of Large Furnishings If They Are Functional

A smaller space doesn’t mean smaller furniture. Miniature bedside tables are not functional or convenient. Especially next to a larger bed frame and mattress – tiny nightstands can look so dorky. Larger bedside tables can actually make a small room look bigger and will be more useful and functional.
