Four Tips For Transforming Your Kitchen Area

4 January 2021 by Eileen Leave a Comment

When transforming areas of your home, it is always good to pay attention to places where there’s lots of traffic. This is usually the area of your home that’s likely to get the most wear and tear and will be the first place to look like it’s in need of an update. One of these areas is the kitchen and seeing as you might use it two or three times a day, it’s worth spending some time updating it every now and then. Here are four tips for transforming your kitchen area.

Four Tips For Transforming Your Kitchen Area

Install A Kitchen Island

A kitchen island is a great space to gather your household around or perhaps some guests you’ve invited over for dinner. It serves as an area to enjoy a few light bites with a glass of wine as you prep the evening dinner, or it could be an extra surface space to help with food preparation. Often enough, the counter space in the average kitchen can be limited and so with the introduction of a kitchen island, it can add that counter space where needed. What’s also great about the kitchen island, is that it adds a bit more interest to your kitchen. Whenever you see one in a kitchen, it can immediately elevate and level up your space.

It’s a great way of upgrading your kitchen area and if you have the space to install one, it’s definitely worth doing to add a bit of value to this room too.

Add Floor & Under Cabinet Lighting For Ambience

Lighting can really make a difference to your space, and it’s something that you definitely want to try and make use of where you can. You may want to do something a little different, like placing LED strip lights beneath your cabinets and along the floor to help illuminate those areas that might usually be pretty dim. It’s a great way of giving your kitchen space that ambience you need to enjoy as a household or when entertaining guests. If you want to go further with it, then you can get ones that can change to any colour you want.

Consider New Kitchen Tiles

Kitchen tiles are a great way to add some colour to the space but wall tiles are also a great way of protecting your walls from the occasional spills and splashes that are made when cooking. Having a wipeable surface is much better than going onto a painted wall, otherwise you’ll spend half your time having to paint over every splash you make. So when it comes to transforming the kitchen area, consider getting some new tiles for the space.

Paint Or Replace Your Cabinets

Cabinets can quickly become battered and bruised over time. With that being said, it’s important to get them replaced when necessary. However, if they’re not in too bad of a condition, then you might simply want to paint over your cabinets with a fresh coat of paint.

These tips can really help transform your kitchen area from top to bottom.
