HEXBUG Havoc App Review

14 May 2014 by Eileen 4 Comments

Mr K is a big fan of gaming and when I downloaded HEXBUG Havoc, he couldn’t wait to try it out.  This is a free app that is designed to download on both iPhone and iPad.  Click here to download to start playing.

HEXBUGHEXBUG is an autonomous toy bug that reacts to loud sounds and pressure on the antennae and scurries around the room.  So in this app, try to get your HEXBUG to race as fast as possible to collect coins and battle through the field.

This is a very simple game which you try to avoid hitting the obstacles and other HEXBUGs through endless tracks.  You collect coins which can be used to power-up and get collectibles.  You do have to watch your energy levels: try to whoosh through Boost Lanes to regenerate, and jump on a parallel path to explore new set-ups.  When your energy bar turns red, you have to be quick to regenerate by absorbing the defeated Nanos’ batteries to increase your energy and race further.

HEXBUG HavocAlso by tapping the screen, it will change your HEXBUG’s path to explore new and different power-ups and collectibles.

My son has played this for a week now and he is able to get different coloured HEXBUGs to build up his collection.  I didn’t sign in with my Facebook as I want to limit his interaction and avoid annoying my Facebook friends.  If you sign on with Facebook, you are able to challenge your Game Center friends.

This is a simple and fun game for young children.  It is similar in genre to Temple Run or Subway Surfers! Download it and have a go!

Disclosure: We will get a freebie in exchange for this honest review.
