How to Personalised Upcycled Wine Glass

20 April 2014 by Eileen 11 Comments

Personalised Upcycled Wine GlassRecently, I was sent Scotch Magic tape to do an Easter Egg challenge but it seem there are many bloggers doing the same challenge. I decided to make something different so I asked my close friends for ideas and Pippa suggested to paint on glass instead of an egg. This sounded like a nice challenge so I used my one of the odd wine glasses and the Baker Ross liquid wax pens.

Materials:

  • Old wine glass
  • Scotch Magic tape
  • Liquid wax pens
  • Wet and dry tissue

Tips:

  • Use the Scotch Magic tape to tape around the wine glass where you don’t want to get the liquid wax on it. For example, I taped around the neck of the wine glass to prevent the green liquid wax from going over it. Only remove once the green liquid wax is dry.
  • I had taped the area above and below where I wanted to spell out my blog name. Then remove the tape when it done.
  • Whenever I got it wrong, I quickly used the wet tissue to clean it off and then the dry tissue to dry it. Wet tissue is also great at wiping the liquid off the pens.

This is a great and a simple way to upcycle an old wine glass. You can also use them on window and glass panes. It is a good choice to use the Scotch Magic tape as it didn’t leave any sticky residue after removing. Scotch Magic tape has a matte finish but it is invisible on paper. It can be written upon with pen, pencil, or marker which is permanent yet resists drying out and yellowing.

Personalised Upcycled Wine GlassDisclosure: I have received the products for the purpose of making craft.
