Switch to Donate Mobile and Support Charity

15 August 2013 by Eileen 2 Comments

I was recently introduced to Donate Mobile, who are a new mobile service with ‘charity at heart’.  Their ethos is to allow you to support your favourite charity simply by using your mobile phone at no additional cost to you.  Each month, 10% of your bill amount is donated to charity by Donate Mobile and there’s no extra charge or surplus on your bill to cover this.
Now you may be thinking “what’s the catch?” – I certainly did.  Well, after having a thorough review of their website, I couldn’t find one!  Their deals are competitive but should you find a better deal, they operate a Price Match Promise where they promise to do all that they can to match it.  Also, they piggyback on the Vodafone network so coverage is assured, much like how Asda Mobile uses the Vodafone network, Tesco Mobile uses the O2 network and Virgin Mobile uses the EE network.
Everything about them is as a normal mobile service should be.  They have a UK-based customer service team; they offer the usual pay monthly plans or pay as you go plans; you can keep your existing number, etc.  However, obviously the key differentiator is being able to make a difference to your chosen charity of which there are over 160,000 to choose from!  According to Ofcom, there are 82.7 million mobile subscriptions in the UK.  Imagine what a huge difference it would make to charities if a large selection of these users switched to Donate Mobile?  Charities like Guide Dog, Born Free, ssafa, Sport4life, swimming trust, CLIC Sargent etc could benefit from your donation.

If you are currently tied in a contract, their website has a reminder service which allows you to register your interest and they will send you a reminder email one month before your contract end.  I am on two year contract and I will look out for it when my contract end.So, why not make a difference while you chat/text/surf and take a look at Donate Mobile for your next mobile phone plan.

Disclosure: This is in association with Donate Mobile and all opinions are mine.
