Hatton Adventure Farm Family Day Out

3 August 2013 by Eileen 5 Comments

Hatton Adventure Farm is located in the Warwickshire countryside with many family activities to offer for young and old. We all had a great time there and I would highly recommend them to anyone.  These are our highlights of the farm:
1. Tristan the Runaway Tractor
This is an adventure to look for Snorty as his mum hadn’t heard from him for a couple of days.  We all hop on the Runaway Tractor and explore the farm.  Both of my children were very excited to look for the clues.  In the middle of the journey, we had to detour as there were sheep blocking the road.
I don’t want to spoil the surprise but do expect to get wet!
We had to leave our pram at the start/end point.  I personally think that this is not suitable for pregnant women as the ride is quite bumpy.

2. Gold Rush
We all had a go at gold panning.  Mr K managed to find three little tiny gold chips and exchanged it for medals for him and Ms C!  He is so proud of his medal that he wore it all day.
Do be careful while panning for gold, as some children managed to pour the water onto themselves.  Note that some smaller children may find it unsuitable because they may find it difficult to reach.
3. Bouncy Castles & Super Slides
There are two different types of bouncy castles for different age groups and they are huge.  This is not supervised by a member of staff.  Both kids loved the super tall slides and were very content jumping inside while I managed to relax at the side.
4. Fun Fair Rides
There are three different rides for young children but parents are able to join in too.  They are mostly operated by one or two staff, so not all rides are open at the same time.  There are tea pot, ladybird and flying beetle rides.  They are all very gentle ride.
 5. JCB Young Drivers Zone & Tractor Trek
These are all pedal powered and you can just pick and choose the ride-on tractors/digger you want.  Drive on the designated path and pedal your way around the track!  Mr K pretended to put petrol in his JCB digger.
There are plenty more to do like feeding the animals, going through a maize maze, a magic show, huge children puzzles, plenty of traditional games and outdoor sandpit etc.
Facilities
There are a lots of wash sinks to wash your hands before and after touching the animals/activities.  The paths are mostly flat and it is wheelchair and pram friendly.  There are restaurants/stalls and plenty of picnic tables for everyone.  There is plenty of free parking too.  Please be aware that the farm has mostly outdoor activities and weather will affect some of these.  They have have a massive soft play area inside the Snorty’s Bouncing Barnyard.  Remember to bring socks or you can rent the socks in the shop with a £5 deposit.
I rate Hatton farm 5 stars out of 5.  I highly recommend them for families with young children.  This is based on my experience with both of my children aged 4 and 5.  I personally love the special effects and interaction by their staff.  We got to see their crazy doctors checking on their equipment or them driving in their tiny golf cart with ambulance noises.  They also inform you through the loud speakers when the next show is starting.
I would like to thank Hatton Farms staff for making this day out so fun, exciting and full of surprises!
