Both Mr K and I suffer from severe hay fever. Each time during the hay fever season, we both have to take anti-histamine drugs on a regular basis and use eyes drops. Last year, I took a home screen test which confirmed that I have an allergy to grass pollen. So my husband has to cut our lawn and I am also extremely careful to not go out when my neighbours mow their lawns.
We are both sick of the symptoms and subsequently having to take medication on a regular basis. So I was glad to be offered to test this Nasal Guard AllergieBLOCK gel. I had not heard of them before and am keen to try out any alternative remedies for our hay fever.
It blocks airborne allergens such as pollen, pet dander, dust mites and ragweed entering the nose.
Mr K and I have used it for over a week and this is what we think about the gel.
On the first application, Mr K was not keen on the smell. I don’t have a particularly sensitive nose, I did not really notice it.
It is very simple and easy to apply by squeezing 1-2 drops of the milky gel onto your finger. Apply a thin layer around the nostrils and between the nose and upper lip. The gel dries quickly and it does not feel sticky or greasy. Apply the gel every 4 to 6 hours or when necessary.
Each tube contains up to 150 applications. The tub is small and convenient to bring it out. I put it in my handbag zip pocket so that I won’t lose it. Each tube costs RRP £11.99 which is quite expensive for a small tube if you were to accidentally misplace it. It is suitable for pregnant women and children and it can be worn under or over makeup.
I do believe that this gel definitely works for me. Since I put on the gel regularly, I have not sneezed once and it lasts at least 2 – 4 hours. But it did not prevent me from getting itchy eyes. My husband suggested I should wear swimming goggles when I’m out!
Mr K spends most of his daytime in school and so he was not able to give me a proper review. But for the times that we applied it for him, we found it to be effective.
Overall, I love the results of not having a red nose like a reindeer and a dry sore upper lip. I would recommend to those who are looking for alternatives to give Nasal Guard AllergieBLOCK a try. It does not cause drowsiness unlike some over-counter drugs.
